MAS id not starting on a clean slate those who were responsible for the failure of MAS are being returned. And I do not understand the wisdom of bringing in a NEW CEO and retaining the old CEO as General Manager. Can someone please explain how it is going to work.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-19741162.post-66040858796751552962014-12-14T10:30:27.181+08:002014-12-14T10:30:27.181+08:00This guy may be Irish afterallThis guy may be Irish afterallAnonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-19741162.post-2250393332557282792014-12-10T07:38:57.274+08:002014-12-10T07:38:57.274+08:00Tuan,

Thousands of Sabena workers refused to obey the request of the company’s management to stay home and instead gathered at protest rallies on airport premises.
On November 8, demonstrators blocked entrances to the customs clearance zones, bringing everything to a standstill, and on Friday, November 9, they took over the motorway.

Anger was directed against both the government and Sabena management.

According to press reports, Christoph Müller, the German chairman of the airline’s executive board, received death threats and has since been living under close guard at the Sabena Hotel in Brussels. Since November 5, the number of police at Zaventem Airport has been increased to 150.

Belgium’s prime minister, Guy Verhofstadt, announced that at least 5,100 jobs at Sabena would be cut immediately. The fate of employees at Sabena’s subsidiary firms is unknown. Consequences for the 30,000 to 40,000 workers indirectly dependent on the airline are also uncertain...

From 2000 onwards, Sabena similarly slipped deeper and deeper into crisis, initially as a result of sharply increased oil prices.

Christoph Müller became the new chairman of the executive board, charged with the task of pushing through management’s long overdue cuts.

He began his tenure with the words: “If we are not making significant progress by the end of this winter, one has to wonder whether this company has a right to exist”.

Following this, he presented a radical restructuring plan that prescribed the wiping out of 400 to 500 jobs and the sale of 90 percent of Sabena’s subsidiary firms..."

http://www.wsws.org/en/articles/2001/11/sabe-n22.html

You be the judge.

Cheers.flyer168https://www.blogger.com/profile/06969462363484277458noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-19741162.post-71791568257517476032014-12-09T21:04:58.908+08:002014-12-09T21:04:58.908+08:00deyy tony f.... take care of your asia x, qpr and ...deyy tony f.... take care of your asia x, qpr and chatelham and tune talkAnonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-19741162.post-4948123308971391282014-12-09T18:53:41.499+08:002014-12-09T18:53:41.499+08:00Khazanah also might get a mat saleh as ceo indeedKhazanah also might get a mat saleh as ceo indeedAnonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-19741162.post-30260545005273661852014-12-09T18:35:45.408+08:002014-12-09T18:35:45.408+08:00Wahid said Khazanah has the right to get the best ...Wahid said Khazanah has the right to get the best for MAS.

Why then Khazanah got idiots to run MAS over the years?

Only now they understand the need to.have an airliner as CEO.

It means it is time we only get the best yo be CEO.of Khazanah, Pemabdu, Teraju, etc.

It means rakyat have the right to get only those voted in to be Ministers and not free pas via Senatorship.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-19741162.post-27844592581657514862014-12-09T17:13:20.024+08:002014-12-09T17:13:20.024+08:00Your point being what, exactly?

How much money has been spent on it and what are the returns?

Yet there are apologists who reiterate that MAS is a poster child for the bumiputera agenda and, as such, should be allowed a whole lot of leeway.

Have these people lost all sense of shame?
