Lajim's planned departure hardly left a dent

A lampoon picture from Sabahkini
Last Sunday July 29th, Deputy Minister and UMNO’s Supreme Council, Dato Lujim Ukin and UPKO’s Deputy President, Dato Wilfred Bumburing announced their intention to join Pakatan Rakyat.

Dato Seri Anwar Ibrahim was there on stage with both of them. So did the whole entourage of PKR leaders  from Kuala Lumpur to provide the number to the not so filled to the brim crowd and to provide significance to the event.

In his speech that some wrongly placed comment felt as amazing, Anwar described the rather too late-for-a-916 crossover as a “turning point in national politics.” Is it really so?

Will Lajim and Wilfred able to repeat the damage they contributed to end PBS rule in Sabah to revive BN but this time damage BN to help Pakatan Rakyat?

The actors remain the same but age has caught up on all of them.

Why delay the release of Tanda Putera? [up-dated]

Listen to this Tanda Putera theme song as you read this posting

On July 17 before Ramadhan, the media and few bloggers were invited by film director, Datin Paduka Shuhaimi Baba, or comfortably called Shumi by her peers, for a sneek preview of Tanda Putera, an upcoming film due for release on September 13.

Unfortunately, words were going around last week and mStar reported on July 19 that the movie’s release would be delayed to an unspecified date. [Read in here]

They denied it had anything to do with the general election.

Director General of the National Film Development Board or FINAS, Mohd Naguib Razak said it clashes with other events like Independence Day and Hari Raya celebration. He added that they need more time to promote this ‘heavy subject’ film to the universities and schools.

The reasons cited were unconvincing and defensive. Thanks for the invite but as a blogger, we’ll say it is a load of rubbish when we sense one!

Typical Low Caste Carrier

That was Husin Lempoyang's depiction of Tony F and Air Asia in here

Low caste carrier.

Typical behaviour of Low Caste Carrier is trying to stretch their luck and patiance of others too far.

Just as we guess it back in June here, "the Indons ain't stupid' and will take no shit from Tony F and Air Asia.

What SUARAM activists and lawyers do when not going around talking human rights?

Crude but that is what these hypocrits from the so-called human rights organisation, SUARAM.

For those following our series on SUARAM and their involvement to frame the Government for a non-existent misdeed, the name of their activist and now member of Parliament, Sivarasa Rasiah cropped up regularly.

Together with Tian Chua and Dr Kua Kia Soong, they were the mastermind in this slandering exercise. In fact, it is earlier than 2009 because Wikileaks revealed the met political councilars from the American embassy in Kuala Lumpur to discuss using Scorpene as part of their political strategy to unseat Barisan Nasional.

For SUARAM or Suara Rakyat Malaysia's diehard, it is hard to believe that their NGO would do such a thing. Their NGO, SUARAM or in their real existense, Suara Inisiatif Sdn Bhd is supposed to be a Human Rights Organisation championing democrasy, freedom, and justice for the down trodden and poor.

Such groups must be morally upright and persevere in their pursuit. Sure ....

International Media muzzled Scorpene scandal too!

Malaysiakini titled Tan Sri Muhyiddin's comment that Government did not muzzled the media to link it with the Scorpene deal.

The Ampang MRT contract is linked to Scorpene because Thales is in the running but Rafizi should do his homework. Thales is not with George Kent.

There is various not related issues like general election date is linked to the submarine in their desperate effort to keep a dead and buried issue alive.

One of the argument put forward in their skewed discussion here is that Government would only be truthful if they stop on Utusan Malaysia's blah blah blah.

But then, isn't that muzzling too?

The Leaving, the Seeking and the Living

The last time I saw Kassim was on February 20th, 2010

Debunking Scorpene Scandal Part VI: Truth on Terasasi

Razak Baginda in trying times
When this blog started this Debunking Scorpene Scandal series in Part 1, we set out to:
... debunk each issue by issue using information from their sources. We will reveal the inconsistency in their allegation, and the ever changing stories.
We may have certain information to refute their allegation but we decide to only use their source and publicly available information on the Internet. Most of the speculation and allegation on Scorpene were politically motivated to bring down Dato Najib. That way we will prove it is only lies, speculations, and illogically made up stories.

Our objective, like the French investigation court, as taken from SUARAM website, is:
... to investigate the claim of corruption for a payment amounting to €114 million made as commissions from DCNS to Perimekar.
If that payment was corruption, someone must be charged. In Part V, we showed SUARAM press statement was reported as that:
“… the French authorities will look into is the corruption or commission allegedly paid by DCN,” said Joseph Breham ….

… the murder of the Mongolian woman is beyond the jurisdiction of the French authorities.
In the video in Part V, SUARAM’s French lawyer, Joseph Breham reiterated that “the French court interest and jurisdiction is on DCN and other French outfit but not any Malaysian entity” and whether bribes was paid by them on and possibly on “French soil." And it include any contravention of OECD Convention on Bribery.

No Altantuya and no indictment of Dato Najib. That will be done by the Malaysian court. Trust me, if there is conviction in France, our court will have to act and we will make sure they do. Or we will help organise Bersih 7...

Debunking Scorpene Scandal Part V: Distorting Leaked Document

In the last two Parts, much have been mentioned about Hong Kong-based news portal, Asia Sentinel. It was playing the covert operation of Dow Jones’s Far Eastern Economic Review (FEER) publication towards South East Asian countries, particularly Malaysia but in a small way. .

It so happen that Asia Sentinel’s editor and writer on the alleged Malaysian Scorpene scandal issue is a former FEER writer, John Berthelsen, 74.

He goes way back to the time another of Dow Jones publication, The Asia Wall Street Journal was banned from distribution in Malaysia for three month in September 1986. Two reporters wee asked to leave and he was one of them. [Read in this AP news archives here.]

It takes someone with an ex-to-grind towards Malaysia to write obsessively only on the death of Altantuya and alleged Scorpene corruption scandal. Another obsessive was Malaysiakini writer, loonie Susan Loone who then was writing from Bangkok in her blog. When the event was unfolding, she had something like 60 postings on Altantuya and Scorpene.

As the leading writer for the propaganda, Berthelsen played the role of feeding news and spin ideas for the local pro-opposition news portal and politicians to work on. The mechanism can be seen in Part IV here on how they dramatised the information judiciaire (judicial investigation) process by juges d’instruction (investigating judges).

Before retreating into guerilla strategy, they were lying and distorting the investigation documents in their hands and later leaked by Asia Sentinel. At first SUARAM claimed that they have not seen the documents. Later SUARAM said it was in the possession of their lawyers, but they could not obtain copies. Who were they kidding when news after news was coming out of Asia Sentinel?

It was SUARAM and their lawyers tipping off Asia Sentinel. From March 2012, Asia Sentinel began to unveil new materials, other than repeating the same boring bit on Altantuya's death, Perimekar Euro 115 million alleged kickback and DCNS's other corruption allegations.

Conveniently, the time was right to drum it up into an issue. The general election is expected to be soon.

Debunking Scorpene Scandal Part IV: Dramatising the Court

Le Tribunal de Grande Instance de Paris
The propaganda strategy by those conspiring to pin Najib with the alleged Scorpene scandal issue were using several prong attack.

It begins with Dr Kua Kia Soong questioning military spending and strangely the military untrained socialist could question the submarine as overpriced and by that acute logic, claim the existense of bribery and kickback.

The propaganda's media strategy used Hong Kong-based Asia Sentinel as leading newsbreaker, which in turn is expanded and sustained further by major pro-opposition news portal and opposition politicians, to be propagated by pro-opposition social media.

Altantuya’s murder is not within the jurisdiction of the French court, but they kept playing it for sensational and emotional impact and news worthiness. It serves as a decoy because the French Investigating Court will not have any charge to pin on anyone, French or non.

Asia Sentinel could only spin as they begin by touching on DCNS’s other allegations of corruption in arms purchases by other countries. As general election draws near in 2012, more news emanated from Asia Sentinel. SUARAM and PKR played up the issue with more lies and deception.

Initially, it was to dramatise the court process to get public attention, lie if necessary.

Debunking Scorpene Scandal Part III: Questioning Defense Spending

Since the exposề last week that Altantuya never went to France and the true status of the investigating court in France, the SUARAM side went on overdrive to defuse and repel one attack after another.

Before that they were taken aback by the simple rebutals from the pro-Government side questioning the logic of their allegations and some revelation of court procedures. Slowly but surely, pro-Government side is raking in the table but still keeping their trump cards close.

There has not been any new allegations from SUARAM. They realised that some segment of the public will begin to demand proof and no more stories and speculation or mere raising of doubt and suspicion.

This Part will expose the way they play their propaganda. It doesn’t matter if a snitch within the pro-UMNO bloggers side is working for the opposition, particularly Tian Chua to sabotage our clarification effort.

The chap, going around making dubious claim within the UMNO circle as being part of an intelligence outfit, is only heavy on rhetorics but factually deficient.

Code Red to Jalil

Abdul Jalil Hamid, NST Group Managing Editor got himself with into mess with blogger The Unspinners here, who demanded his resignation for allegedly sabotaging the Prime Minister, by putting up a report in Sunday's Berita Harian of former PSD Director General, Tan Sri Abu Bakar Abdullah's grouse for being dismissed.

The blogger saw it as Jalil questioning the Prime Minister's decision to not extend Tan Sri Abu Bakar's service because he failed in his assignment on the new pay scheme SBPA and caused a major embarassment to the Prime Minister. He also saw it as Jalil's intentional attempt to embarass the Prime Minister for releasing the report.

Jalil's damage control article today ignored the blogger and just hope to "... put the dark episode behind us". Unfortunately for Jalil in perhaps his first encounter with bloggers, to pun from the character Colonel Jessep played by Jack Nickelson in the 1982 movie, Few Good Men, he "... messed with the wrong marine, son."

The Unspinners is one influential pro-Government blogger he should not have messed with. Not only do they have reasonably wide readership as one of the top pro-UMNO bloggers, they seemed to have a wide network of information and deadly in their 'game', especially during by-elections.

These loyalist attitude emulates Col. Jessep and it reflects from one quote from the same movie:
"You *uckin' people. You have no idea how to defend a nation. All you did was weaken a country today, Kaffee. That's all you did. You put people's lives in danger. Sweet dreams, son."
Expectedly, more came this afternoon.

In support of the dismissal of Tan Sri Abu Bakar

Firing civil servant could be seen as preposterous to the lovable but conniving Chief Secretary to the Government, Sir Humphrey in the famous British sitcom of the 90s, Yes Prime Minister.

He would have rattled by the revelation in the Berita Harian yesterday that former Director General of Civil Service, Tan Sri Abu Bakar Abdullah was dismissed and not retired.

By virtue of seniority, Tan Sri Abu Bakar was widely expected to takeover the post of Ketua Setiausaha Negara (KSN) or Chief Secretary to The Government, a post similar to Sir Humphrey, from Tan Sri Sidek Hasan.

Instead Prime Minister, Dato Seri Najib Tun Abdul Razak by-passed Tan Sri Abu Bakar and choose Dato Dr Ali Hamsa as replacement KSN in middle of last month June.

The predecessor to Sir Humphrey, Sir Arnold would gasped in surprise to such promotion that is “not their time yet.” He would have exclaimed, “That is the thin end of the wedge.”

Without knowledge of the procedures and precedent of the civil service, this blogger laud the decision of the Prime Minister. It is high time and overdue that the incompetent ones is not rewarded with promotion but termination..
