Thank You For The Music ... Loga

Loganathan Arumugam or simply Loga of the Penang group, Alleycats died at 54 on June 4th, 2007 at 10:50 am after a long hard battle with lung cancer.

His voice and the Alleycat will always be remembered as that sound from home to "mengubatkan rasa rindu" when studying abroad.

The thing that impress me of Loga and David is that they are not just non Malays rendering Malay song, but they are rendering sentimental Malay ballads in those typical Malay tunes. They made those tunes reach to all Malaysians.

Among my favourites are:

Sampaikan salam

Sekuntum Mawar Merah (as performed by Hattan)

Hingga Akhir Nanti

Kerana Kau (as performed by Misha Omar)

Andainya Aku Pergi Dulu Sebelum Mu

Search You Tube here for your own available favourites.

I had the pleasure of meeting and chatting him but just do not quite remember where and when. My impression of him was that for a celebrity, there is no air about him. He is very casual, warm and friendly.

The obituaries from the newspaper: Sun, The Star, and Utusan Malaysia. My fellow bloggers: Jeff Ooi, Elizabeth Wong, Walski, Lulu, Mahaguru58, Galdriel, Pak Idrus, and many others here.

I will not "...bersedih hati" or "...memencilkan diri." For the happiness that your music has brought to me, I pray for God blessing on you Loga.

Trimakassihhhh!!!!!!

I am one Malaysian who has no affinity what so ever to Alleycats, at all!

I dunno any of their song and I don't think I enjoy any of it. The same genre was Kembara, which
    I enjoyed a lot.
