Of explaining, last words and last laugh, finally inner peace
A friend sent the above quote.
It made us think and ponder. It is not something new and we have said the exact words without realising that it was said earlier by Paule Coelbe. Most likely, we heard it from someone else.
There is a twist to the above quotation.
Fanatics, those filled with prejudice and those that tend to presume things tend to be so. But those really with the right attitude to "agree to disagree" are those that are:
Usually, we hear what that needs to hear but we will stick to a position based on a certain premise. The Arabic word is Itiqamah. It is based on a certain guiding moral principle or public interest.
So far, we have been mostly right. Sometimes we could be wrong ...
Off course, they will be those that laugh off at flaws and mistakes. But then again, sometimes it is too early to conclude it as flaws and mistakes. They may have laughed it off too early.
You see, someone said:
And, the last best laugh could be the longest:
But then, why do we need to laugh and spew insult. Sometimes those thinking they are laughing last:
Talking about last, many especially woman in arguing with the man partner tend to:
... without realising that:
The more intelligent, rational thinking and knowledgeable tend to:
If there is really the need ...
Enough of explaining to the those that do not want to hear. It is fulfilling the ego to the be the one to laugh last and say the last word but it is far beyond us already.
At the end, what matter is inner peace. Peace with oneself, others and God. Given the circumstances, strongly believe the path taken remain the right one. The wrong is still wrong and the right is still right. We are at peace.
Those righteous ones out there, are you so sure? Are you at peace with yourself?
The Malays have a saying ... tepuk dada tanya selera. May your true conscience be your guide. You must be sure of yourself before you can have a conscience.
what is this a joke? all evidence pointing to A, you still say it's B. and then you have the galls to say "people only hear what they want to hear"?
ReplyDeleteits clear that you are what they call a "wind up merchant".
all attempts to engage with you in a logical manner, using documents in public spheres have been fruitless. go on tell us about units. what happened to them after bsi is forced to shut down?
bet you cant answer that can you? and all the while crying wolf about "perception, propaganda".
I suppose there are lots of people out here or there who need to hear the whole truth coming from the horse's mouth. So much has been put across by one but nothing sensible is coming out of the other side.
ReplyDeleteWe cannot forever be dependent on what are considered "truisms" only.
Thanks for these quotes.
ReplyDeleteRather than continuing to waste my time trying to convince people with set opinions who will discard whatever evidence on the contrary which I have presented them, I rather maintain my silence and try to convince those whose minds are open to my points in a productive discussion which could lead to us moving forward.
When a comedian can no longer crack a joke, he will blame the stiff audience.
ReplyDeleteFinally you aware of your mistake you have done all these while. Thank God. Please share it with Roki as well
ReplyDeleteKhir ...you are lost in your illusion. Dont read very well, do you?
ReplyDeleteHe may be wrong and it is fine to be wrong. But for now he still think he is right and on the right path as though he knows something that the public don't.
Remember he wrote Jho Loh and Shahrol is wrong. Not najib ...
You should wait for the arrest, charge and court case. Someone would do a last laugh on you for being too sure.

Don't think for a moment that your heart is strong. The heart is a vulnerable fool. It turns more easily than your head. That's why it's called 'qalb' (that which turns). Protect it with layer upon layer of guards. And the only guard is the consistent remembrance of God.

ReplyDelete" I had weighed the situation for as long as I could but when an American newspaper, headquartered somewhere in Lower Manhattan in New York, wrote a story that got nominated for the coveted Pullitzer Prize, about an issue that happened right under my nose, I began to seriously search my conscience and asked myself why was I in journalism in the first place"
ReplyDeleteMustapha Kamil (ex NST Editor)
Strange this Mustapha would write an open letter to explain his reason to resign.
ReplyDeleteMajority of people do not understand this issue enough. It is too technical even for business reporters. If Mustapha and anon 1:48 had to rely on foreign journalist to make a decision on their position, it is like politicians opposing Najib based on what the ground is saying or perceiving him.
Mustapha should be making his stance based on facts and that is numbers and legal fine prints. Not quoting Rupert Murdoch's insinuation and speculation as basis for his decision. He told his collegaues at NSTP that he quit because he could not stem the continued fall in circulation. What a load of rubbish.
Only suspect Mustapha is on the take. The open letter is part of the requirement. Never have anyone quit newspaper and write an open letter.
Tun M and Mukhriz may seemed kedekut and hardly gives money to his diehard supporters but he got deep pocket for this campaign. Quite a few former NST are in his staff and payroll. No impossible that Mus is being paid.
