More from where it came from

This blogger was just alerted that Tan Sri Robert Phang have been cleared by MACC with regard to allegation in this blog of him trying to bribe a Ministry's Secretary General. Read back posting here.

Robert Phang was making ruckus demanding MACC to investigate a case already openned by police's commercial crime division against Tan Sri Tajuddin Ramli with regards to losses at MAS during his Chairmanship and allegations of graft against Tan Sri Gani Patail involving Haj pilgrimmage.

The revelation by this blogger against Phang serve the purpose to get the attention to reveal the ridiculous allegations vociferously made by Phang.

So he is released, but it is only because of insufficient evidence to charge him. It does not mean it didn't happen. God knows and this blogger stand by the story and his source.

However, there is many more from were it came from.

Together cleared is Attorney General Tan Sri Abdul Gani Patail from allegation of graft over his Haj pilgrimage also by Robert Phang and the gang.

Read The Star latest below:

MACC clears AG and Robert Phang of graft

By FLORENCE A. SAMY

KUALA LUMPUR: The Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) cleared Attorney General Tan Sri Abdul Gani Patail of graft allegations over his Haj pilgrimage to Mecca with his family.

MACC also cleared former MACC Consultation and Corruption Prevention Panel member Tan Sri Robert Phang of having tried to bribe a ministry's secretary-general.

There was not enough evidence to prove graft, according to the MACC on Tuesday.

Malaysian online news portals and bloggers had been playing pictures of Abdul Gani seen together with Shahidan Shafie, who was said to be close to former Malaysia Airlines chairman Tan Sri Tajuddin Ramli in the recent haj pilgrimage in Mecca.

They had claimed that Shahidan had convinced Abdul Gani not to press charges against Tajuddin, who was chairman of MAS from 1994 to 2001, over the national carrier's loses which ran into billions.

MAS was reported to have filed several reports against Tajuddin with the MACC, citing Tajuddin's move to relocate MAS' cargo operations in Amsterdam and Frankfurt to a single hub in Hahn, Germany, as the single biggest loss suffered under him.

The new hub operation reportedly incurred monthly losses of between RM10 million to RM16mil before it was terminated and the government took over control of MAS in 2001.

Meanwhile, the allegation against Phang was that sometime before Hari Raya of 2010, the secretary-general of a ministry, which was awarding a contract worth RM900mil, had to tell Phang to leave his office because Phang had tried to bribe him.

The Star stop short of mentioning that Phang could not substantiate his demand and was merely based on allegations and spin doctoring by bloggers Raja Petra Kamaruddin and Din Merican.

Both wrote and made their allegations based on information believed to be leaked by MAS lawyer, Rosli Dahalan and the investigation by former CCID and friend to Rosli, Dato Ramli Yusof.

Instead of investigating MAS, MACC had investigated and charged Dato Ramli and Rosli for money laundering related offenses. Both was found innocent and this made them vindictive towards MACC, Gani Patail and Tajuddin Ramli.

Phang was happy to join the crowd. Our investigation found that there is no substantive issue against Tajuddin Ramli and all this is more out of a intricate web of political opportunism and revenge by the participants.

How will Phang react from hereon?

His innnocence is well anticipated and prepared for. In case, there is a need for another expose, he may need to do an Anwar Ibrahim.

Go ahead, make my day.

Back to basics in award of scholarships

Back in December 2009, this blogger seek for a review in the role of MRSM and other boarding schools here. The number qualified has risen dramatically and boarding school does not meet the current role in education.

Boarding school is a misallocation of resources for elite middle class few over the masses. The role of boarding school must go back to the basic of assisting social mobility for the facility-deprived rural and urban poor students.

Few months back, this blogger was in the audience listening to Prime Minister, Dato Seri Najib Tun Abdul Razak's speak in the Parliament building. The gist of his speech is the new way forward for the country. The 1Malaysia Government will be fair to all.

In the reward of scholarships, he said the Bumiputera affirmative action program will remain in tact. On the same note he said, it is not fair that the straight As or A+s are not awarded scholarships.

The SPM result were just out.

Students are in a rush for placement into Universities and Colleges. Once places are secured, there will be a mad rush for scholarship. As happened for several years, the argument on scholarship resurfaced again.

Like the case of MRSM and boarding schools, this blogger advocate going back to basic. Government must face up to the economics of limited resources. Scholarships is a vehicle for social mobility of the rural and urban poor.

The Middle class, be they Bumiputera or non-Bumiputera, have to take responsibility for their children tertiary education.

Wee Ka Siong-Guan Eng Game

It started out with Lim Guan Eng criticising the manner public scholarship were awarded on May 20th. This was in response to Deputy Minister, Dato Dr Wee Ka Siong's suggestion a day earlier that students accept their offer before appealing to JPA for the University of their choice.

This is a far cry from the days Bumiputera scholarship recipents were told to accept whatever University and courses offered to them many decades ago. It seems JPA scholarship has no bond like before and have become a source for brain drain.

Wee has said a day earlier that some 363 straight A+ students who deserved to be funded to study abroad had lost out to those with lower grades. He seemed to invite criticism and Guan Eng took a poke at Public Service Department (PSD).

Guan Eng claimed that PSD decides on the scholarship awards and they had offered the top scholars placement in local matriculation or diploma programs. He highlighted that scholarships should be given to the best students and instead awarding it to the worst.

MCA Youth secretary-general Datuk Chai Kim Sen replied to DAP as “instigating problems” but the message was in-sync to highlight the problem of “victimised” top students. He went on to make a false claim that the prime minister had decided to give PSD scholarships to all students who achieve 8A+ in the SPM regardless of race.

Guan Eng added on May 21st the "mistake" of not granting scholarships to qualified students.

By May 22nd, MIC’s deputy minister in the Prime Minister’s Department, Datuk SK Devamany join the fray to seek an independent committee to investigate the scholarship distribution.

His concern is not so much about full A+ heartbroken for finding their applications rejected. He said 367 students had approached him, where 200 claimed of being rejected unfairly and 167 claimed of rejection for Matriculation and diplomas despite having 6As and 7As.

Devamany claimed students deserve scholarships for a degree programme of their choice. That indirectly brought the debate to another level whereby any qualified students deserve to be given scholarships to study abroad.

DAP national publicity secretary Tony Pua added more fire the next day, May 23rd when he said that role and responsibility to award scholarship be given to Talent Corp instead of being “sabotage” within the PSD.

Getting Political

This invited Perkasa's same day response. Perkasa, who has been watching the exchange and set-up from the side, spoke through their Information Chief, Ruslan Kassim.

He claimed many Malay students were being “unfairly” treated by the PSD as they failed to obtain financial aid despite being qualified. There have been widespread talk that competition for place and scholarship is competitive among the Malays that cronyism and nepotism practise is creeping in. It takes a "know who" to even secure only invitation to scholarship interview and more to secure schiolarship.

Ruslan reiterated that the federal constitution ensured that Malays were prioritised when it came to receiving scholarships and that remains an unquestionable fact in the special rights of Malays under Article 153.

Though Government and various political parties acknowledged the special position of the Malays with respect to reservation of scholarships, resources is no more unlimited since Government introduce the 55:45 ratio for Bumiputera to Non-Bumiputera and a special scholarship award on merit basis.

Minister in charge of PSD, Dato Nazri also rebuked Wee as trying to be a hero for criticising PSD. He reminded that Putrajaya never promised scholarships abroad to all SPM top scorers. Instead, the government can only commit itself to ensure that all top scorers in the SPM be guaranteed places, be it local or abroad.

Government allocated 1,500 overseas scholarships to top students but only 300 were given based entirely on merit to students scoring straight 9A+. The remaining 1,200 were distributed according to those qualified within four categories: Sabah Bumiputeras (5%), Sarawak Bumiputeras (5%), social composition or the population’s racial composition (60%) and socially handicapped (10%).

This subsequently lead to a retaliation from MCA with President, Datuk Seri Dr Chua Soi Lek stepping in. He seek the BN government to review the racial quotas used to allocate the PSD overseas scholarships. While he claimed to support the quota for Sabah Bumiputeras, Sarawak Bumiputeras and socially handicapped, he hinted the 20 per cent quota reserved for meritocracy be expanded.

The self serving Chinese interest element was obvious since Chinese usually dominate the top results.

Perkasa responded by demanding that 67% of PSD scholarship be awarded to Bumiputera in accordance with Bumiputera population. They attacked MCA and MIC to stay out of the scholarship row and not interfere in the affair of PSD. MCA and MIC responded by telling Perkasa to not be bigger than Government.

In the midst of the war of words between Nazri and MCA, DAP demanded for government’s assurance that all top students be awarded PSD scholarships. PKR responded through their Education Bureau Chief and former Federal Territory Education Director, Abas Awang, who pressed the Najib administration to abolish the race quota in PSD overseas scholarships.

The Association for the Promotion of Human Rights (PROHAM), through their Chairman Tan Sri Simon Sipaun called on the government to abolish overseas scholarships and for qualified students to be given financial aid to attend local universities instead.

This is in contrary to an Indian NGO, Malaysian Indian Student Association (Misa) president Kishur Goonasaran, who exchoed Devamany to demand that all students who scored 8A+ be awarded the overseas grants. This was just MIC stretching their luck
to get more Indians included.

The Way Forward

Let's face the economic reality. The resource required to support a scholarship program is only money and it is in limited supply. No resources is available on unlimited basis. That's basic economics.

How do one maximise utility or the economics term for satisfaction for all parties affected by the demand for scholarship? The ideal solution would be free for all with meritocrasy being the basis. The best qualifies.

That is what MCA and DAP wanted. Multiracial PKR was almost saying the same but measured for overseas program for fear of being criticised of betraying Article 153. But will it be fair to all?

It is only self-serving for the Chinese interest and not even the other non-Bumiputera like Indians. When it is too bias in favour of one race, groups like Hindraf, Perkasa, and what name you will come in. To each, will come with their own argument.

Hindraf will use some general clauses in the Constitution and some sad Indian discrimination stories, lying the statistics if need be, to justify more places for Indians.

Perkasa will revert to the constitution. If they take the extreme to say that the Constitution does not impose on the Government the responsible for tertiary education of the other non Bumiputera races, they are not totally wrong.

However, the other side of the Article 153 argument is that it accords the same right to wealthy Bumiputera.

This reminded of this blogger's own experiance in University whereby a wealthy Perakian UMNO politician cum entrepreneur, manage to have five of his children to study abroad on MARA scholarship and loans. All these years, this blogger kept feeling that it was morally unfair despite it being legally right.

With money a limited resource and other budgetary constraints in fulfilling the demand for tertiary education, overseas education is a luxury the country can ill afford. The call by PROHAM is really appealing.

Scholarship should only be available for local Universities and the savings from sending students abroad help improve local Universities and get good professors from abroad. After all, what's the point of spending on overseas education when students refused to return upon graduation?

Overseas education should be limited to post-graduate studies and seeking specialist subject not available locally.

Since Government is not constitutionally bound to provide for tertiary education, making available scholarship for more local Universities students shed a positive light on Government. This is in addition to absorbing the cost of primary and secondary education.

The existing merit-based scholarship program to award top students is also not fair. Children from wealthy families stand to benefit on something they can afford.

Despite making more money available for scholarships for local Universities, it is not likely to be enough. Any selection criteria will still limit the availability of fund. The use of quota only answers the political questions. It does not solve the distribution issue.

The way forward is to limit access to scholarship in the same manner we advocated limiting the number of MRSM and boarding schools. Scholarship is meant for only the economically disadvantaged to meet their tertiary education needs.

By making scholarship as program to help the poor, it should stop leakage in the system to the middle class, particularly the Malays and Bumiputera, at the expense of the 60% income earners of the country earning below RM1,500 per month.

This is blatantly happening everywhere. It is high time that Malaysian middle class sacrifice their lifestyle and take-up responsibility for the education of their children. MACC should look to raid PSD, Government Departments, and agencies giving out scholarships.

Private sector can take up that slack by providing research grants, scholarship foundation as part of their CSR, and funding certain Departments or Graduate School program.

For those going for top Universities abroad at undergraduate level, one can't expect that on the Government. Parents should save up from the day their children were born.

Downsize on your lifestyle. You can't cut the cake and eat it too.

Buku Jingga: The Malaysian Economic Hitman manifesto

Dato Seri Anwar Ibrahim had once claimed that he can bring in investment from abroad, specifically the Middle East, in the tune of RM3 trillion. Off course, it will not come in one go but in stages.

On December 20th, 2010, Pakatan Rakyat launched the Buku Jingga or the Orange Book.

The Buku Jingga is the outline of their short-term and long-term plan if the manage to takeover the country's administration in the next general election or earlier should 39 Barisan Nasional MPs jump to Anwar's side earlier on September 16th, 2009.

The worrying part of the Buku Jingga is that the goodies or spending pledges will raise budget deficit by RM199 - RM253.8 billion in the first year. By the second year, another additional budget deficit of RM139.6 billion.

Without any specific proposal on additional revenue to finance the budget other than the impossible rhetorics of zero corruption and wastage, the country should bankrupt by the second year of Pakatan administration.

This is faster than Dato Idris Jala's 5 year fear factor projection to shock the public that the country would bankrupt like Greece in 5 years time should it refuse to cut it's subsidy expenditure.

The country is projected to rake in a total 5-year deficit of RM700 billion throughout Pakatan Rakyat's administration.

That RM3 trillion will surely come in handy. Malaysia will effortlessly succumb to the hands of the global Economic Hitman.

Confession of An Economic Hitman

John Perkins, a former employee of the American National Securities Agency, wrote a book "Confessions of an Economic Hit Man" in the 1980s.

Perkins' role as described in Wikipedia was "to convince the political and financial leadership of underdeveloped countries to accept enormous development loans from institutions like the World Bank and USAID. Saddled with debts they could not hope to pay, those countries were forced to acquiesce to political pressure from the United States on a variety of issues.

Perkins argues in his book that developing nations were effectively neutralized politically, had their wealth gaps driven wider and economies crippled in the long run."

In the book, Perkins described the Economic Hitmen (EHM) role as below:

"Economic hit men (EHMs) are highly-paid professionals who cheat countries around the globe out of trillions of dollars. They funnel money from the World Bank, the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID), and other foreign "aid" organizations into the coffers of huge corporations and the pockets of a few wealthy families who control the planet's natural resources. Their tools included fraudulent financial reports, rigged elections, payoffs, extortion, sex, and murder. They play a game as old as empire, but one that has taken on new and terrifying dimensions during this time of globalization."
When a country is indebted, it is dependent and subject to the whims and fancies of the various International lender and essentially loses authority over it's own affair. That's recolonisation and loss of independence.

Malaysia had escaped the last neo-colonisation wave through the International Monetary Fund (IMF) during the currency crisis and reformasi era of 1998-2000.

Indonesia was not lucky. They had to submit to IMF and the whole world saw President Suharto signing his country and his Presidency on the loan agreement with IMF Managing Director, Michael Camdesus watching with folded arms.

During that era, Anwar Ibrahim was the Finance Minister and he willingly through his policies submit the country into the arms of the IMF.

He cut fiscal spending drastically, raised interest rates in line with the wishes of the financial market vultures down south, slash borrowing and doing the unheard of policy to seek Banks to recall loans.

Today he refute himself as working for IMF interest and blame Tun Dr Mahathir using the tired excuse of conspiracy. He accused others of practising corruption, cronyism and nepotism which he was a party to and a ground breaking practitioner.

Anwar and his political boys were involved in taking kickback as project brokers, and dishing projects for cronies. Cronyism was partly tolerated by business people as long as one delivers and fairly priced. Non business public only wish to see some redistribution mechanism in place and benefits plowed back to society.

Anwar and his crony had none of that. He was only building political war chest to widen his political influence and finance his future plans. He makes no bone of using money to gain political influence.

It was Anwar that made money politics in UMNO from a mere child play to a serious multibillion dollar power play when he ousted Ghaffar Baba and set his sight on Tun Dr Mahathir.

Anwar wants Buku Jingga to be his cause celebre. He liked others to think Buku Jingga is bigger then himself.

But if it is the answer to allegations on homosexual and sexual transgressions, then his thinking remains centred on himself as though it is a ground breaking document that has to be stopped at all cost and slander be used if necessary.

Is the Buku Jingga a political manifesto of a sensible Government?

Buku Jingga

Buku Jingga is still about Anwar himself and his agenda to achieve the highest position in Government at all cost, irrespective of his changing principles and values.

It contains ten 100 days promises and 39 common policy platforms. The 100 days promises are:
  1. Reform main Government institutions.
  2. Abolish ISA.
  3. Abolish highway tolls.
  4. Reduce corporate sector subsidies.
  5. Increase teachers' allowances by RM500.
  6. Cancel all private water concessions.
  7. Deploy free Wi-Fi.
  8. Dissolve Felda Plantations.
  9. Increase oil royaltries to Sabah, Sarawak, Terengganu and Kelantan.
  10. Resolve illegal immigration in Sabah.
The promises are in essence more of political popularity contest to make political in-road into BN's fixed deposits than genuine economic feasibility and reform.

Increasing teachers' allowance is to win the hearts of traditional BN's supporters.

Dissolving Felda Plantation and redistribute to the second and third generations will make political in-road into Felda areas. Felda Plantation is a key source of revenue for the Felda welfare program and organisation. By dissolving it, Pakatan can abolish the whole Felda scheme and leave the farmers to the whims of market forces.

Promising oil royalties to 20% as compared to current 5% is obviously a populist move to make in-road into Sabah and Sarawak. It serves to regain Terengganu, which was saddled with oil royalty issues. And to entrench themselves in Kelantan in the midst of issues related to improprietary by Nik Aziz, family and his exco members.

Most of items in his 100 day reform plan involves increasing expenditure. That in itself is in conflict with Anwar's Malaysian Economic Agenda for 2008 which seek for market driven economy, reduce dependence on subsidy and heighten competitiveness.

Political populism

Buku Jingga is about political populism and not about reforms and freedom.

Reforming the main Government institutions in Anwar's perspective is more for his political expediency than genuine reform.

He has always subscribe to the believe that institutions like police, judiciary, army, and many agencies are being abused to preserve Barisan Nasional. In place, he has no specific program but merely politically laden rhetorics.

The reality is BN Government have undertaken various reforms like Royal Commission on Police, EAIC, MACC, Corruption NKRA, etc.

As far as Anwar's abolishment of ISA, does the population favours it? The likelihood is the people want such preventive law remain for sake of national security but ensure it is not abuse for political purpose.

Government is reviewing it and it is believed that the new procedure in determining ISA detention is not left to individual but to a Committee.

Anwar fear of ISA is more for it's obstacle to opposition's plan to invoke sensitive issues to provoke the voters.

Read my lips. Pakatan will NOT abolish ISA. DAP never questioned Singapore for not abolishing ISA and it's more draconian practise. Anwar did not questioned the Americans for the Patriot Act and various new law similar and more draconian than ISA.

During the expose of the Christian Malaysia pledge, they were demanding ISA on blogger Big Dog and editor of Utusan Malaysia.

Rising Expenditure

The obvious impact of Buku Jingga is that Government expenditure will swell up drastically within 100 days.

Instead of reducing the role of Government to increase competitiveness and for a market driven economy that Anwar used to preach, he has went on the reverse for populist increase in Government spending and increased Government role in the economy.

By abolishing highway tolls and going nationalisation, it will cost taxpayers at least RM50 billion. A cheaper and more sustainable alternative which BN Government is already looking into is to have a GLIC takeover PLUS' asset.

Cancelling water privatisation will stiffle effort to upgrade and modernise the water system. It is beyond affordability of state government to own, operate and modernise the water asset.

For instance, the Selangor Government is faced with massive budget deficit and reserve drainage due to the free water election promise.

With reserve of about RM400 million left, Selangor is asking for SYABAS, ABASS and Puncak Niaga at RM6 billion without any financing in hand and still is short to the RM15 billion asking price. Capital investment is not in the picture yet.

PAAB is looking into this proposal already.

Anwar's promise to teachers will immediately inflate teachers' salary bill by RM2.4 billion without concern for other aspect of the education budget. Eventually all civil servants will demand salary increase and it could cost as much as RM7.2 billion a year.

If Anwar's promise to increase oil royalties to the states is fulfilled, it will reduce federal budget by RM12.5 billion and yet he proposed to increase spending.

Buku Jingga proposed cutting corporate subsidiy but have no specifics in reducing overall Government subsidy bill which Anwar preached before election 2008.

In all, the most outrageous proposal of the Buku Jingga was to promise a minimum RM4,000 income to all household in 5 years. This will cost Goverment RM93.9 billion per annum and is unrealistic.

Some 67.1% household are earning below RM4,000 a month. To achieve that income level, it means Malaysia has to achieve an annual compuanded growth rate (CAGR) of 21.7%. That is higher than China's 10% and their robust economy.

The road ahead will be bleak with Pakatan can only promise additional revenue from zero corruption and leakage dream of RM28 billion per annum and restructuring IPP can reduce subsidy by RM19 billion.

How will that cover for the first year's deficit of RM199 billion to RM253 billion as estimated by Ministry of Finance?

Assuming the annual increase in deficit of RM139.6 billion, the country budget deficit will exceed 10% of GDP and public debts will have exceeded 100% GDP. The country will go bankrpt in Year 2 of Pakatan administration.

With global economy uncertain and volatile, where is Malaysia expected to get the money to finance the deficit? Will it come from Anwar's RM3 trillion promise? Who are the lenders? Will it be institutions recommended by the Economic Hitman?

Now that's "Harapan Baru untuk Malaysia" down the narrow path of impoverishment and recolonised through Anwar's new Economic Hitman program.

The Malay Studies graduate in classics didn't become World Bank Adviser and Adjunct Professors of reknown American Universities for nothing.

If his economic management will be disastrous, how is Anwar to achieve those 39 common policy platform promises based on his unpragmatic erotic infactuation with liberalism and neo-liberalism philosophical ideals.

Wikileak: Did Eskay botch again?

The blogosphere have been going tic toc tic toc ... waiting for Dato Eskay Shazril to make a revelation he claimed as a final blow to the political career of Dato Seri Anwar Ibrahim. There were two opportunistic moments to release the information but it didn't come out.

During the heat of the moment of the sex video allegedly of Anwar as the male leading role, Eskay posed five questions:

  • How many times Anwar went to Thailand in the last two years?
  • Who received him in Thailand?
  • Which hotel is his accomodation?
  • What did he do in the hotel?
  • Who made all the payment?
Naturally Anwar would not give credence by answering or even responsing. But Eskay had not answered the five questions too.

He is now faced with a Wikileak expose by Raja Petra on Malaysia Today here yesterday. Read also reports by Free Malaysia Today here. Blogger rbf here notice Malaysiakini, Anwars paid mouthpiece has yet to make a report of it.

When pushed comes to shove, only then would Eskay respond? There is supposed to be an expose in Utusan Malaysia today but where is it online? Did Eskay botch again?

Fumbled Big Time

In the last sex video case, he fumbled big time. Although the man is not the same, getting Tan Sri Rahim Tamby Chik involved destroyed the credibility of the expose.

Displaying the video to reporters and opposition leaders and sympathisers at Carcosa, of all the place, was unnecessary. It build up curiosity to the public but late in fulfilling it. By the time, the video was released, which was rather late, Eskay was playing games as though he was trying to emulate his spin maestro friend, Anwar Ibrahim, by releasing it bit by bit.

He fumbled in the handling and many mistakes were made that finally the impact was lost. Anwar had all the time in the world to response, cook up excuses, and played his religious card.

Do not be surprise if Eskay is charged for the offense of distributing pornography and Anwar goes scots free from this episode. He did not do anything wrong under the law. It is the woman that will be charged for prostitution.

Thank God, this blogger was not called back by the Dato Trio to view the video. Anwar's friends and supporters can be dangerously unreliable, unethical in their game and in some cases, naive gloryseekers.

Eskay is undoubtedly an associate of Anwar. Read this blog X-PKR here, believed to be that of a former associate of Anwar.

Cards in hand

The manner that made Eskay turned against Anwar has still not jive with many. Furthermore, comments this blogger received from those with business dealing with Eskay does not make him credible.

This blogger believed Eskay has many cards in hand. Assuming he has no credibility issue and is really a changed man, does he knows what and how to do with the information he has?

One possibility is the video below that revealed Anwar sourcing money from abroad via Bangkok.

Read commentary from blog Hhalem here. Will the revelation be about that?

As it is Raja Petra, who was speculated to have escaped Malaysia with Eskay's assistance, released a US Embassy cable that was spinned by FMT here as Eskay having involvement in Muslim insurgents in Southern Thai.

The cable described him not as having in-depth knowledge of Southern Thai but played a role as fascilitator and mediator to find peace. That explains his appointment as Honourable Consular for Thailand. Read Raja Petra in Malaysia Today again here.

In the cable, it seemed Eskay had a friendly info sharing conversation with the American Embassy people and they prepared a paper to cable to Washington. Who connected him with the Americans?

He's no amateur

There is an interesting portion in the cable worthy of highlighting:
He (Eskay) said he did not see links yet between the Thai insurgents and regional or international terrorists, but recognized the potential and encouraged the U.S. to keep a close watch. He also noted, however, that the insurgents received financial assistance via Singapore from unknown sources.
Another point below:
Eskay crudely estimated that Malay separatists accounted for only 30 percent of attacks in the south with Thai army, policy and intelligence agency factions, along with criminal gangs, responsible for the balance.

Eskay relayed that many insurgent leaders believed deposed Prime Minister Thaksin and Thai Rak Thai party advisor General Chavalit were funding much of the recent violence. Insurgent members had denied association with New Year's Eve bombings in Bangkok. They also disassociated themselves from many of the attacks on schools.
There are two important matters from the highlight.
One, the information verified and checks up. My late sifu had deep interest in the southern Thai issue and gave a similar comprehensive accounts with reasons behind Singapore funding insurgents.

Two, it tells us that Eskay is no amateur.
Thus, why did he botch the first expose? Maybe it was not Eskay who botched it but it was Rahim's old school ways.

Whichever he wish to expose, the Utusan frontpage headline this morning is no headturner. Who needs Eskay to tell that Anwar is a sicko? Any power hungry compulsive liar chameleon with sickening sexual addiction are sick people.

Damn Eskay ... do not botch this one. You screw this one and your reputation is a lost cause. There will be no more opportunity. Perhaps, with the childish manner of some overzealous glory seekers pre-empting Utusan Malaysia, it was intercepted.

Wiki Weak Leak Lick

The word Wiki is a Hawaiian word that was popularised by Wikipedia. It means quick. Wikipedia is essentially a quick reference website.

What do one make out of the title of this posting then? A quicky thats weak? Licking back a leak?

No ... this posting is not about Wikipedia but about Wikileak. It's got to do with something weak but there will be no licking.

Just some cautionary words on Wikileak. Even Raja Petra cautioned his readers here to not assume Malaysia Today as news portal because it is a psywar machinery.

Malaysia and Wikileak

The first Wikileak on Malaysia broke out of a Sydney based newspaper in December 2010. It was a cable of discussion between Singapore foreign affairs people bitching about Malaysia and few notable politicians with their Australian diplomat.

Raja Petra published a photo of himself with Julian Assange in London on Malaysia Today recently here and announced he had an understanding with the founder of Wikileaks. He claimed he has more 4,000 cables on Malaysia in his hand .

As expected, he is releasing the cables. The first cable being about Dato Seri Najib's inner circle. Someone tipped off that many more will surface between 20-28th May.

Before that Asia Sentinel wrote an article with regard to the murder of Altantunya. One can guess that the cable could have come from Raja Petra.

Before one get spellbound by Raja Petra's storytelling of fact interspersed with fiction, season with salt, spiced with blackpepper and flavored by herbs like thyme, rosemary and basil, never take any information as absolute truth.

A cautionary article written by Professor Michael Chossudovsky, a regular speaker at Perdana Global Peace Foundation (then Organisation) on the Global Research website was reproduced in this blog. Read again: Who is behind Wikileak?

The Wikileak in Raja Petra's possession should not only be about political personalities from the Government side. Will he play fair to release something on Anwar and the other side?

Australian Wikileak

The first Wikileak on Malaysia sounded more like Singaporean intelligence talking with their Australian counterpart and informing their American counterpart, the then US Deputy Secretary of Defense.

They discussed the declining state of Malaysia under the then Prime Minister, Tun Abdullah Ahmad Badawi.

The Singaporean believed that Anwar commited sodomy and that sent Anwar into a ceramah frenzy tour to highlight another part of the Wikileak. The cable mentioned the Singapore Special branch believed Dato Seri Najib is implicated in the murder of Altantunya.

The time of the cable is likely around the time before the Altantunya murder court. The reason being they - Singapore agents and Australian together with the American - were concerned for Khairy who was under heavy shelling.

Read back Rocky Bru here, Azmi Anshar's NST column here, and other sources.

Asia Sentinel Leak

The Asia Sentinel leak was published online on May 17th. The suspicion is the cable information has to be from Raja Petra.

He is developing a new storyline or perhaps highlighting another side to his old storyline, thus he would refrain from writing anything new about Najib and the Altantunya murder until the story develops.

There won't be Big Dog to kacau this time because he has smeared him as calling Ku Li kedekut (miser). Wonder what is the motive behind that awful lie.

Refering to our posting here, the new information is that Abdullah is believed to have a hand to implicate Najib so that he can stay on. This piece of information helps to reinforce a theory or more accurately a hypothesis in this blog that Khairy was involved in the attempt to implicate Najib.

The glaring thing about Asia Sentinel report is that it is based on too many speculation. The diplomat "speculated that the trial was being deliberately delayed and feared what one cable calls "prosecutorial misconduct.""

They mentioned of "an intriguing allegation that then Prime Minister Abdullah Ahmad Badawi may have attempted to use the proceedings to implicate Najib, a claim that was quickly hushed up in the Malaysian press."

The piece made a simplistic conclusion that "Abdul Razak Baginda, one of Najib's best friends and Altantuya's lover, was accused of participating in the murder but was freed without having to put on a defense."

Having spoken to Razak's lawyer, that is not the case. He was held and had cooperated in a thorough investigation. He has said it all in the affidavits. His lawyers believed he should not be called.

Don't blame the AG only lah. Why didnt the defense lawyers called Razak to the stand?

Nevertheless, this was the only single issue raised by Karpal Singh in his so-called role as doing watching brief for the family of Altantunya. Karpal acknowledged that Altantunya was only Razak's lover, not a translator or defense dealmaker, as Asia Sentinel speculated.

Interestingly, they reported that the alleged cable was "replete with accounts of a long series of meetings with opposition leader Anwar Ibrahim, who repeatedly told the Americans that Najib was connected to corrupt practices in the acquisition of the submarines as well as the purchase of Sukhoi Su-MCM-30 Flanker fighter jets from Russia."

Now we know where the American got their information. The liar himself.

The likelihood is the American did not do a thorough legal analysis of the proceeding in the court. Is their cable merely on hearsay? No class man, the political desk of the US Embassy.

Malaysia Today's Wikileak

On May 19th, two days after Asia Sentinel's so-called Wikileak expose, it was Malaysia Today's turn to release their first expose - A preliminary look at Najib's network.

Thank god, my name is not in there. Otherwise, it would be credible. Hehehe ... just joking.

The list of names of the political associates is interesting. Let me pick: Are they so sure that Zahid Hamidi, Johan Jaafar, and Zin Mohamad are in Najib's political inner circle?

If so, why was Zin not given a Minister post? Words are he is quite taken a back.

Or perhaps, hopefully some bloggers who have recently been whacking Zin realised, Zin is Najib's key man in Selangor UMNO?

Looking at the list of so-called companies associated with Najib and Rosmah, does the American realised that CIMB is too family to be allies? Their analysis is faulty. Do they realised that Nazir is more from Tun Dol's regime and more typical of 4th Floor boys than of Najib's boys?

Hong Leong as Najib's associate? The Mat Salleh is drunk or something? Hong Leong is Anwar's corporate backer.

Symphony House is more Nor Yakcop than Najib. And Nor Yakcop is more Anwar and Abdullah than Najib's.

The mention of Syed Mokhtar as Najib's business associate shows these American must have hired some local who prepared such paper by merely referring to newspaper, believed to be The Star.

Not many people, even in UMNO, understand Syed Mokhtar. He is too intriguing and mysterious to be analysed in such simplistic manner.

Salahuddin Ayub and Mahfuz Omar should reanalysed their allegation of Syed Mokhtar with regard to the issue on merger of Bank Islam and Bank Muamalat. LOL.

Kenneth Eswaran as crony of Rosmah? Will stop commenting. ROTFL.

OK OK ... Wikileak is about correspondance by Americans. Remember guys, American are so insular. They are lousy about geography, history and anything other than America. They are full of themselves to be right in their perspective.

They once claimed the New York Cosmos as the World Soccer Champion.

It could be useful and could be not. Your info is as good as mine. The difference is can you check it up.

Wikileak anyone? Yeah ... sure.

Poetic interlude: We are as the flute

We are as the flute, and the music in us is from thee;
we are as the mountain and the echo in us is from thee.

We are as pieces of chess engaged in victory and defeat:
our victory and defeat is from thee,
O thou whose qualities are comely!

Who are we, O Thou soul of our souls,
that we should remain in being beside thee?

We and our existences are really non-existence;
thou art the absolute Being which manifests the perishable.

We all are lions, but lions on a banner:
because of the wind they are rushing
onward from moment to moment.

Their onward rush is visible,
and the wind is unseen:
may that which is unseen not fail from us!

Our wind whereby we are moved and our being are of thy gift;
our whole existence is from thy bringing into being.

More DAP's attempts to mislead and divert

Some say the Christian Malaysia issue pushed UMNO and Barisan Nasional to the wall. They speculate that BN will face political repercussion from the high Christian population states of Sabah and Sarawak.

The reason being religion is a more sensitive and effective political campaign tool than race. Christian Bumiputera will unite to support Christian non Bumiputera.

PAS realised this powerful political weapon for a long time. DAP, whose been a long time opponent to PAS's theocratic state, just realised its usefulness. But will that mean DAP is ready to dump secularism and announced Christian state in their manifesto?

Not quite.

Otherwise, DAP wouldn't be floundering all over with their inconsistent replies. They understand and feel the immediate impact, thus for their aggressive diversions, spins and lies.

Partisan Politics and House of Worships

Before going further on DAP, there is a need to reply to Raja Petra's reply here to this blog's posting entitled "Where everybody miss the plot" here.

By the time this blogger realised Raja Petra had attempt to mislead his readers, this blog had published two postings that could be replies. First was entitled "Priests have no business in politics" which is a Vatican City communique dated July 1993. Second posting was entiled, ""Political" Father Lawrence refuse the plot!"

Raja Petra arguement was: Since Islam's concept of syumul or comprehensive way of life include politics, there is nothing wrong to apply to Christians. Unlike Christianity, Islam does not believe in the separation of church and state.

His round about argument was based on the notion that Islam, Christianity and Judaism are Abrahamic religions. Quran teaches us that all the followers of the way of Abraham must get involved in politics, so it should be applicable to Christians too!

Christianity have undergone through their historical evolution to what it is today. Without having to get into lengthy historical details which Raja Petra should know, the Surah Al Ikhlas basically says that their religion is their religion, our's is our's. It is not our business as Muslim to change the way they practise.

Other than some DAP Christians faking their appreciation of Islam to quote Quran to the excitement of PAS supporters, do Christianity and Judaism accept Islam as Abrahamic religion?

Raja Petra may have a point if he were to say that there should be nothing wrong with churches and masjid promoting good values to fight against corruption, power abuse, bad governance, etc.

However where do one draw the line between real struggle against corruption, power abuse, bad governance, etc and partisan political game incessant in making wild accusation, unsubstantiated lies and slanders, and character attacks?

Other than the bad behavior towards their opponent, ask ourselves: will politicians be honest enough to admit their mistakes, wrongdoing and deviants ways? At least, BN politicians will shut-up or resign when caught. One do not see that coming from Pakatan.

Let's not talk of the ever lying Dato Seri Anwar Ibrahim.

Tok Guru Dato Nik Aziz manipulated documents to cover his unethical appointment of his son-in-law, Ariffahmi as General Manager of PKNK. Nik Aziz was not honest to admit of Ariffahmi's wrongdoings. And Nik Aziz accepted bribery in the form of an expensive paid Haj.

Tok Guru my foot! What more do this blogger need proof?

If the prophet Muhammad or any of the sahabat is alive today, will they approve the political practices of Muslim politicians in Malaysia today? This blogger will be fair, politicians are meant to be from both sides of the political divide.

This blogger would speculate, without any malicious intention that Malaysia Today, Malaysiakini, Harakah and other news portal like The Malaysian Insiders will not receive their nod.

This is lead to the need to separate politics i.e. partisan politics from Churches and Masjids, the only two houses of worship that has sermon as part of it's ritual.

It is better, more harmonious, peaceful and less divisive to the community and society at large. Churches and masjids can preach good values without allowing the divisive and dishonest ways of partisan politics usurping into these holy houses of worship.

Back to the plot

DAP did and should stop dragging churches into partisan politics.

If DAP did not hold that special dinner for those pastors from Sarawak reported to be assisting DAP's political campaign, they should not be panicking and fumbling in their responses and media reports. Read here and here.

Neither should DAP be aggressive in their psywar of diversions, spins and lies.

Since Sibu by-election last year June, DAP intend to continue their covert penetration into churches and Christian groups under the pretext to challenge the UMNO-led Barisan Nasional government's so-called denial of Christians' rights and demands.

They will not want the Christian declaration to be known to outsiders as it will have disastrous effect on DAP and Pakatan Rakyat. The Muslims in PAS, PKR and even those sparse existence of Muslim DAP will ditch Pakatan Rakyat by the hoards.

Though it could not be ascertain, there could be reactions from other religious communities and families gravely affected by fanatic Christians and their aggressive evangelism. They might use this opportunity to retaliate.

DAP realised this.

If Razali is only a reaction and not the only source of information, DAP will not be able to anticipate what is forthcoming.

That explains for their aggressive attack on Utusan Malaysia, misquoting Dato Ibrahim Ali as calling for a Crusade war against Christian, use of Unashamedly Ethical Conference (UEC) as diversion and mislead public discussion from the plot of DAP conspiring to drag churches into politics.

Honestly, the only mistake that Utusan Malaysia did was to give a front page coverage to Bigdog's posting. However, they have been giving a fair coverage by giving the other side to Bigdog's story.

Can we get that from those Chinese newspaper? Heck, it is usual for the Chinese press to give frontpage coverage to oppositions' spins and lies against the Government.

Why the need to stretch to the point of Angkatan Muda Keadilan planning a demonstration in front of Utusan Malaysia's Jalan Chan Sow Lin's office today. It is heard that Dato Ibrahim Ali's Perkasa will be there to receive them.

Now that we are talking of Ibrahim Ali, why are DAP and Pakatan maing a big fuzz over Ibrahim ali's speech in Kelantan?

Did Ibrahim Ali call for a Perang Salib or Crusade against Christians? What was the context of those words? Hear his video below:

Ibrahim Ali said, "Kalau ada pihak di Pulau Pinang, terutama dikalangan paderi Kristian yang didokong oleh DAP Pulau Pinang terus dengan agenda yang kita tahu niat mereka ini (negara Kristian), saya tawar nak perang salib ... boleh!"

If DAP, Pakatan Rakyat and churches had vehemently claimed that no such oath happenings, why are they gunning down on Ibrahim Ali's usual style of public rally?

Ibrahim Ali's mention of "Perang Salib" is conditional. Since they attacked his "Perang Salib" statement, is that admitting those underlined conditions are met?

Aren't they being inconsistent for demanding Ibrahim Ali and Utusan Malaysia editors be arrested under ISA?

More strange reaction is the news below:

The Transparency International Malaysia (TI-M) president, Datuk Paul Low who participated as invited guest speaker at the Unashamedly Ethical Conference (UEC) on May 5 vouched that the organisers of the event did not do a pledge for Christianity be made the constitutional religion of Malaysia.

Read the full report on Malaysian Insider's here.

This blogger believed him that it did not happen during his session on May 5th. However, Paul Low is still guilty of trying to mislead the public from the truth. Did the church or DAP seek his favour to do this shabby cover-up?

The allegation on the Malaysia Christian state pledge was never at this conference. Thus the denial is but to mislead the public into thinking the alleged dinner never happened at all. That attempt to cover-up is an admittance of guilt.

A refresher is important for these twisted DAP and Christians brains (not all Christians, mind you .... sensitive times).

The Conference Unshamedly Ethical was held on May 5th dan 6th at the Dewan Berjaya 2 & 3 at Berjaya Hotel. It involves a Christian NGO dedicated to ethical, good values and clean living in business and living. Fine and welcome.

Those are the close door conference. Then there is the open to the public night conference on May 6th.

The alleged pledge as told by bloggers happened at the pastors off time from the conference on the night of May 5th at Hotel Red Rock, Jln Macalister, Penang.

One church organisation denied holding such pledge and tried to divert using the UEC. Take that excuse as good. After all they are church going Christians.

Consequently, DAP Jelutong's denial of hosting that dinner is a lie. Why would a church organiser holding a major conference only invite pastors from Sarawak for a dinner at Hotel Red Rock? Why are the presence of many DAP members if it is not DAP hosting it?

Aisayman ... Jeff Ooi and Lim Guan Eng. If you have to lie, at least be believable.

Khairy's response in consonant with the opposition is being in question as trying to soften the impact. Read Kembara Politik here.

Why is the UMNO management quiet of this?

This is the second time in a row this blog is touching on Khairy. In the first time, there was an UMNO cybertrooper blog critising this blog.

With that kind of argument, my advise would be to play within your sandbox. This blog doesn't play that Melayu thing of shallow perception play and emotional drama.

Another thing, primary schools taught children to begin sentences with capital letters. Apply that first.

Wikileak: Pak Lah tried to implicate Najib in Altantunya murder

Does that mean Khairy had a hand too?

Out of the blue, Asia Sentinel - an online news portal where once Anwar's important linkman to the international press, Kazi Ahmad used to write at - had made an interesting expose.

Perhaps it is not quite out of the blue because this is just a day or two after Raja Petra announced he signed an MOU with Julian Assange of Wikileak.

Asia Sentinel claimed that Wikileak exposed that in February 2008, a cable from Political Section Chief Clark at the US Embassy in Kuala Lumpur to presumably the US State Department gave hint that "Abdullah Badawi himself may have been trying to get rid of Najib by forcing Razak Baginda to implicate him in the murder."

One can only recall that during the 2008 UMNO party election, Kepala Batas did not nominate Najib for Deputy President. [Read here.] By January 2009, Tun Abdullah was seen as though getting opposition's help to keep him on. [Read here. ]

As far back as June 3, 2007, this blog had been sceptical of any theory or conspiracy talk in the murder of Altantunya. Why?

Read here of an immediate attempt to link Najib with Altantunya death and accusing him of fathering Altantunya's then 1 year old kid.

This blog had even suspect that Khairy was involve in that charade to implicate Dato Seri Najib in the murder of Altantunya. Najib is aware and that is the reason he is not appointed as Minister.

Read also this past posting entitled "Perubahan Rancangan Peralihan Kuasa: Mana satu konspirasi, Mana satu lojik (kemaskini)" here dated March 13 2009. This was before pictures of Datin Seri Rosmah with orphans at Tabung Haji was revealed.

Raja Petra had mentioned of Khairy's involvement in one of his postings in Malaysia Today.

He mentioned those he wrote namely; John Pang, Din Merican, Nik Azmi and Kol Azmi in the TV3 interview but held back on Khairy. Maybe it is TV3, where the Kalimullah people are still in control, putting a brake.

Khairy had denied it when RPK wrote of his involvement. See above news clipping.

In fact, there are many more people involved in this conspiracy. This is blogger suspect there are at least 5 other major players still held back by RPK.

This was one noisy conspiracy.

This blog had written quite a bit on the murder of Altantunya story. One can run this blog's search engine and find many postings on it.

Wonder where this new revelation by Asia Sentinel is heading. Read the Asia Sentinel piece in full below:

WikiLeaks and the Altantuya Murder

Cables show the US embassy in KL feared "prosecutorial misconduct" during the sensational 2009 trial

The US Embassy in Kuala Lumpur closely followed the trial of the accused killers of Mongolian interpreter Altantuya Shaariibuu and frequently discussed whether current Prime Minister Najib Tun Razak was involved in the killing, according to diplomatic cables supplied to Asia Sentinel by the WikiLeaks website.

The diplomats, like much of the public, also speculated that the trial was being deliberately delayed and feared what one cable calls "prosecutorial misconduct" that was being politically manipulated. The embassy officials based their concerns on sources within the prosecution, government and the political opposition.

The cables also draw attention to an intriguing allegation that then Prime Minister Abdullah Ahmad Badawi may have attempted to use the proceedings to implicate Najib, a claim that was quickly hushed up in the Malaysian press.

Altantuya was murdered in October 2006 by two of Najib's bodyguards, Chief Inspector Azilah Hadri, 30 and Corporal Sirul Azhar Umar, 35. who stood trial and were pronounced guilty in April 2009. Abdul Razak Baginda, one of Najib's best friends and Altantuya's lover, was accused of participating in the murder but was freed without having to put on a defense.

The murder has been tied closely to the US$1 billion acquisition of French submarines by the Malaysian ministry of defense, which Najib headed as defense minister during the acquisitions. Altantuya reportedly acted as a translator on the transaction, which netted Razak Baginda's company a €114 million "commission" on the purchase. Reportedly she had been offered US$500,000 for her part in translating. After she was jilted, she vainly demanded payment. A letter she had written was made public after her death saying she regretted attempting to "blackmail" Razak Baginda.

French lawyers are investigating whether some of the €114 million was kicked back to French or Malaysian politicians. Despite the scandal, the US government has not publicly backed away from Najib. In April 2010, Najib visited the White House and was praised by President Barack Obama for the parliament's passage of an act allowing Malaysian authorities to take action against individuals and entities engaged in proliferation of weapons of mass destruction.

The cables are replete with accounts of a long series of meetings with opposition leader Anwar Ibrahim, who repeatedly told the Americans that Najib was connected to corrupt practices in the acquisition of the submarines as well as the purchase of Sukhoi Su-MCM-30 Flanker fighter jets from Russia. Anwar also called attention to Najib's connection to the Altantuya case.

A Jan. 24, 2007 cable, marked "secret," wrote that "Perceived irregularities on the part of prosecutors and the court, and the alleged destruction of some evidence, suggested to many that the case was subject to strong political pressure intended to protect Najib."

In a Feb. 1, 2008 cable, the embassy's Political Section Chief, Mark D. Clark, wrote that a deputy prosecutor had told him "there was almost no chance of winning guilty verdicts in the on-going trial of defendants Razak Baginda, a close advisor to Deputy Prime Minister Najib Tun Razak, and two police officers. She described the trial as interminably long." (That, of course, turned out to be wrong. Sirul and Azilah were ultimately convicted and have appealed their sentence)

Clark called the trial a "a prosecutorial embarrassment from its inception, leading many to speculate that the ineptitude was by design. On the eve of the trial,Malaysia's Attorney General Abdul Gani Patail dropped his lead prosecutors and replaced them with less experienced attorneys. Similarly, a lead counsel for one of the defendants abruptly resigned before the trial 'because of (political) attempts to interfere with a defense he had proposed, in particular to protect an unnamed third party.'"

The protracted nature of the case, Clark continued, led "at least one regional newspaper to speculate that 'the case is being deliberately delayed to drive it from public view. Malaysia's daily newspapers rarely mention the case's latest developments, and it is unprecedented in Malaysian judicial history that a murder trial could drag on for seven months and still not give the defense an opportunity to present its case. Such an environment has led many to conclude that the case was too politically sensitive to yield a verdict before the anticipated general elections."

A January 2007 cable called attention to Razak Baginda's affidavit confirming that he sought the help of Musa Safri, later identified by reporters as Najib's aide-de-camp, in ridding him of the jilted woman, and in other cables pointed out that Musa had never been called for questioning.

In another cable, dated May 16, 2007, Wan Ahmad Farid Wan Salleh, a deputy home affairs minister in former Prime Minister Ahmad Abdullah Badawi's cabinet told US Embassy officials that he was "certain that government prosecutors would limit their trial activities to the murder itself and the three defendants; prosecutors would not follow up on allegations of related corruption or other suspects."

In a Jan. 27, 2007 cable, marked "Secret," embassy officials wrote that "In December we heard from one of (Anwar's) lawyers that Razak Baginda's wife was in contact with Anwar and Wan Azizah, suggesting one possible source for Anwar's information."

Razak Baginda's wife, during one of his first appearances in court, screamed that her husband "doesn't want to be prime minister." That was taken by observers as a reference to the fact that Najib reportedly had been having an affair with Altantuya but passed her on to Razak Baginda because it would be unseemly to have a mistress when he succeeded Abdullah Badawi as premier. Najib has offered to swear on the Koran that he had never met the woman.

However, in July 2008, P Balasubramaniam, a former policeman and private detective who had been hired by Razak Baginda to protect him from Altantuya, filed a sworn statement saying he had been told by the accused man that Najib not only knew the murdered woman but had an affair with her and introduced her to him, passing her on because he did not want the onus of having a mistress in the event that he would become prime minister.

In a telephone interview on May 9, Anwar, however, told Asia Sentinel that Razak Baginda's wife was not the source of his knowledge of Najib's connection and that instead he had been told of the connection by Setev Shaariibuu, Altantuya's father, who said he had wished to present evidence of Najib's involvement, but was not allowed to do so. Multiple attempts to contact Setev by Asia Sentinel have been unsuccessful.

Almost immediately after he made the statement, Balasubramaniam was picked up and driven to a police station, where he was forced to withdraw the statement and write a new one saying Razak Baginda had told him nothing of the sort. Balasubramaniam fled Malaysia for India. He later said Najib's brother, Nizam, and wife, Rosmah Mansor, had met with him and that he was offered RM5 million (US$1.48 million) to forget his statement connecting Najib to Altantuya. Balasubramaniam displayed a flock of checks drawn on the account of an associate of Najib's wife. The former private detective has made a a series of statements from outside the country about Najib's involvement.

A February 2008 cable from Political Section Chief Clark gives a hint that Abdullah Badawi himself may have been trying to get rid of Najib by forcing Razak Baginda to implicate him in the murder.

"In the latest turn of the ongoing Altantuya murder trial (reftels), accused political insider Abdul Razak Baginda, who has remained calm and composed through most of the proceedings, unleashed an emotional tirade shortly after the February 20 noon recess on the trial's 90th day," Clark wrote. "Referring to the Prime Minister by his nick-name 'Pak Lah,' Razak reportedly exclaimed: 'You can die, Pak Lah! (in Malaysian - Matilah kau, Pak Lah!) I'm innocent!' according to unpublished journalist accounts.

"Local newspapers and the government news service Bernama reported the fact of the outburst, but did not print Razak's statements. The short-lived exception was the English language newspaper The Sun, which included the quotations from Razak in its early morning February 21 edition. Sources at newspaper confirmed to us in confidence that the Ministry of Internal Security compelled The Sun to withdraw and recall thousands of copies of their first run paper in which the original quote was included. Prime Minister Abdullah serves concurrently as Minister of Internal Security."

During the trial, Clark wrote, Razak Baginda, "appeared uneasy throughout the morning session of court on February 20. Razak's father, Abdullah Malim Baginda had whispered something to him shortly before the trial had begun for the morning and apparently upset the accused. Razak had remained quiet throughout the morning hearings, but just after the noon recess was called and as he was leaving the courtroom he kicked and banged the door and yelled "You can die, Pak Lah! Die, Pak Lah! I am innocent. I am innocent." He was later seen crying before his lawyer while his mother attempted to comfort him."

"Speculation is rife in Malaysia's on-line community concerning what it was that set off Razak Baginda outburst, including conspiracy theories alleging the Prime Minister's office had urged Razak to implicate Deputy Prime Minister Najib Abdul Razak …in return for sparing Razak a guilty verdict and its mandatory death sentence," officials wrote.

The cable goes on to write, "Regardless, the Internal Security Ministry would want to limit any possibly inflammatory reference to the Prime Minister at the trial, and particularly at this juncture due to the proximity of Malaysia's general election to be held on March 8. Any connection between the Prime Minister and the murder trial would be scandalous. The GOM (government of Malaysia) reportedly has worked hard to 'drive (the case) from public view' … and is not about to allow the case to influence the coming elections."

This revelation could be fun for getting even and gloating.

But this blogger remain wary of any information from Wikileak, Asia Sentinel and Raja Petra. We have to see the original cable. And we have to be convince the original cable is not fake and adulterated like some documents in Sarawak report and Pusrawi medical report on Saiful.

With general election coming, what is the motive? Why now?

Wesak wishes: Pray for the Spirit of Rachel Corrie

Happy Wesak Day to All Malaysian Buddhists

Let's all pray for the well being of all the crew of the Spirit of Rachel Corrie

The Perdana Global Peace Foundation (PGPF) condemned in the strongest possible terms the act of aggression by the Israeli Naval Forces when they fired on the humanitarian mission bound for the Gaza Strip.

The Spirit of Rachel Corrie ship, a humanitarian cargo vessel, officially known as FINCH came under attack one nautical mile inside Gazan waters at 6.35, this morning. We urge the international community to join with us in condemning this illegal, barbaric and uncivilised act.

The cargo ship was inside the Palestinian territorial waters and had broken the siege when the Israeli Naval Forces intercepted the ship and ordered the Captain to retreat. The first shot was fired across the bow and followed by several more shots. One of the shots almost hit a crew member, Mohd Jaffrey Ariffin, causing others to panic and hide for safety.

During the ordeal all those on board feared for their lives. The inhumane behaviour by the Israeli Naval Forces continued, despite the ship already turning towards the Egyptian waters.

In the communication between the Captain and the Israeli Forces it was clearly stated that the ship was unarmed, and only carrying humanitarian aid. Despite that, the Israeli Naval Forces were not dissuaded and continued to shoot directly at the ship when it was leaving.

As far as PGPF and the anti-war activists are concerned, we had ‘Broken the Illegal Israeli Siege’ by being one nautical mile inside Palestinian territorial waters. The Gazan fishermen and other locals witnessed the event from the shoreline as they had gathered to welcome the siege breaking vessel and receive the aid mission.

PGPF acknowledge the sensitive manner in which Egyptian authorities have dealt with the situation. The vessel, under the guidance of the Egyptian navy has made its way to the port of El Arish. PGPF are currently being assisted in making arrangements for the transfer of the aid to Gaza by land via the Rafah Crossing.

We left the scene and entered Egyptian waters when the lives of unarmed civilians on board were endangered by this act of violence. Mindful of Israeli’s numerous killings of civilians at yesterday’s Nakba commemorations, the vessel withdrew to protect those on board from becoming victims of another act of terrorism by Israel.

The cargo ship The Spirit of Rachel Corrie (officially known as FINCH) is carrying 7.5 kilometers of UPVC (plastic) sewage pipes to help restore the devastated sewerage system in Gaza. The ship was named after the courageous American activist who was crushed and killed by an Israeli bulldozer in 2003 while trying to prevent the demolition of another Palestinian home. She died at 23.

The Spirit of Rachel Corrie Mission is part of the Perdana Global Peace Foundation's (PGPF) "Break the Siege on Gaza” campaign. The purpose of this campaign is to highlight the effects of the illegally imposed Israeli siege and raise awareness of the human rights violations of the people of Gaza. Breaking the siege and ending the illegal collective punishment of 1.5 million people must be a priority for the international community.

"The Palestinian struggle is nothing more than a struggle for justice, to which they, as much as everyone else, have a right." Tun Dr. Mahathir Mohamad, President of PGPF stated.

In a press release by PGPF the group said that on 27 December 2008, the Israeli military launched Operation Cast Lead, which not only killed some 1400 Palestinians, but also destroyed vital infrastructure leaving the Gazans with critical water and sewage problems. PGPF says Repair of the infrastructure has proved impossible as Israel has prevented the entry of construction materials and fuel to resolve this dire situation.

According to a report from the Emergency Water, Sanitation and Hygiene group (EWASH), "the release of 80 million litres of untreated or partially treated sewage into the environment and Mediterranean Sea each day is primarily a result of the Israeli imposed blockade on the Gaza Strip."

According to Physicians for Human Rights-Israel: "Between 90% and 95% of the aquifers in the Gaza Strip are not safe for drinking." The primary cause of the current problem originates from the destruction, during Operation Cast Lead, of "20 kilometers of water pipes, 7.5 kilometers of sewage pipes and 5,700 mobile water tanks".
