Sime Prop CEO: Is Hisham Hamdan the choice of Zeti's or Mahathir's?

The rumour Dato Voon Tin Yow of Ecoworld to be Sime Properties CEO with RM260,000 monthly paycheck has subsided.

Under pressure from blogs, online media and socmed, including Dato Kadir Jasin, Tun Dr Mahathir had apparently gave the N.O. few days ago.

Kadir may not necessarily be Mahathir's voice since he is more Tun Daim than Mahathir. A mainstream media reporter confirmed to yours truly their cold treatment towards each other evolves around Economic Adviser, Dr Muhammad Khalid

A new rumour going around is that the new Sime Properties CEO will be Hisham Hamdan. The current acting CEO, Datok Wan Hashimi will remain COO.

Is it the choice of Sime Prop Chairman, Tan Sri Dr Zeti Akhtar Aziz or Mahathir aka Mat Khalid?

Prosecution's last hope today for SRC case

At the start of the SRC trial against Dato Najib, this blog repeatedly wrote the SRC allegation does not hold up under Penal Code 403 for misappropriation of property.

It was the original charge planned and leaked by Sarawak Report.

Last week, the last witness for prosecution from MACC, Senior Assistant Commissioner (Special Operations Division), Rosli Husain, said their lead to investigate came from SR but did not seek Clare Rewcastle for statement. He did not even bothered to find out of leakages in MACC investigation.

Duh! His lead was not even from the more credible Wall Street Journal, but the spinning and highly manipulative SR.

It smells conspiracy to high heaven.

Did Perak MB, state sssemblymen interfere rape investigation?

On August 2nd, Fatihah Jamhari, a lawyer and women activist wrote in NST to raise concern on the late progress of rape investigation involving a DAP state assemblyman and Perak exco member, Paul Yong.

Fatihah was not happy with the police attitude. MCA Woman Chief, Dato Heng Seai Kie was called in for investigation for making allegation forensic report was missing.

She is not totally wrong as no forensic report was attached in the first IP to AGC. It was only available one month after the incident.

Hannah Yeoh was vocal too albeit only on August 19th, but left untouched by police. Nga Kor Meng retaliated by revealing her grandfather was a communist.

Fatihah raised a long list of concerns and one worthy of highlighting is: Is he given special privileges because of his status as an assemblyman and a state exco member?

If not for public pressure, this case may have been buried and no prosecution.

TH Zukri only had angioplasty, Better spin Yati

Last week's posting on Dato Zukri Samat's resignation got noticed by Tabung Haji.

That story have been spreading for quite a while but there was neither denial nor confirmation from TH. His last day is on Merdeka Day next week but no official statement coming from TH.

TH's PR hitwoman, Datin Norhiyati's response is only to leak it for last Saturday's Weekly Edge to report as rumour.

Message likely from Yati claimed as follow:
FYI. Zukri stepped down due to health reasons. Tun M tak nnak accept until he showed all his med records. Daim takde kena mengena in TH and tak kacau. Eton position as board pun intact..
She used the health reason as story line. The Edge story looked lengthy, but said nothing new.

Mahathir cabinet reshuffling could break-up PH

Yesterday evening, a former opposition MP, whose party now is the ruling party, sent the following message:
Breaking news!
Dr Mahathir told ministers at cabinet meeting today that portfolios will be reorganised. Tonight, he's meeting PH party leaders
Subsequently, he send a link from a Chinese newspaper, Oriental Daily reporting Dato Seri Anwar Ibrahim did not attend the meeting and Dato Mustapha Mohamed to join cabinet.

Daim freezing relation

Earlier rumour heard was Tok Pa is to be made Economic Adviser to PM, and current adviser and possibly others linked to Tun Daim in PM office removed.

It was indicative of a cold front developing between Tun Daim and Mahathir. Those on Daim payroll but working with Mahathir will surely be in a dilemma.

S'pore frozen account of ex-BNM Governor's spouse?

Why? Why? Why?

Why must people share information of public concern and interest, more so matters that have grave implication for country with us?

When they share, we are obligated to God and country to expose, if not pose the necessary questions for the respective party to respond intelligently in public view.

Why must such responsibility keep falling on our lap?

While our contemporaries are comfortably retiring, we are still burdened with such conscience.

Fallacy of the Muslims argument in defending Zakir Naik

Those were the words of Zakir Naik that is in the centre of the current controversy. Tun Dr Mahathir have met him and defended the decision to allow him to stay.

His politics for politics sake nature saw the political need to make Zakir a controversy.

Before Zakir said those words deemed sensitive to Chinese, Indian and Malaysians of immigrant roots in Kota Baru, Mahathir dropped a hint that the government has no choice but to keep him. If sent back to India, he is a dead man. And no other country wants him.

It is either him giving new excuse to retain Zakir in Malaysia or giving fodders for the like of his fellow party man like Tan Sri Rais Yatim, Tan Sri Rafidah Aziz and Syed Saddiq to call for his extradition back to India. Typical Mahathir testing the water.

Mahathir was also throwing a spanner into the work. It seemed intended to anger the Hindu and Malay Muslims, in which subsequent solution will amaze the public with his brilliance and regain the support from both segment of voters for the waning PH.

Anwar to be PM by mid-September?

We'll be fighting in the streets
With our children at our feet
And the morals that they worship will be gone
And the men who spurred us on
Sit in judgement of all wrong
They decide and the shotgun sings the song

Don't get fooled again - The Who
Seeing the current big hot issues of Lynas, Dong Zong, Zakir Naik, Koon Yew Yin and Jawi/khat issue unfolding, it just makes no sense.

The PH government has been in power for 15 months, but still blaming previous BN government.

However, these issues were systematically made to crowd the media are not disagreements between BN vs PH, but PH vs PH.

Do they not have Whass App groups to communicate among themselves?

While all these is happening, Dato Seri Anwar Ibrahim seemed quite relaxed.

Media missed significance of Kimanis election petition decision

Gravity Hill along Jalan Kimanis-Keningau

There is a spot along the Kimanis to Keningau highway, where one gets the illusion of mineral bottle roll or standstill vehicle gradually move uphill against gravity.

There was a decision in court yesterday with regard to the status of the Member of Parliament for Kimanis, Dato Anifah Aman. The media wrongfully misunderstood the judgement.

Their report gave the illusion it is the end of his political carrer by reporting his win as conclusively null and void. Anifah could still roll uphill.

In the case of The Star, their subsequent report still missed the point:

TH's Zukri Samat asked to resign?

Remembered Mowardi Mahmud of Sinar Harian writing glowing tribute for TH's CEO, Datuk Zukri Samat in January.

Hanya Jauhari mengenal manikam (only a gemologist appreciate gems), he titled his article.

Heard from two sources that Zukri had submitted his resignation from TH and his last day will be on August 31st.

No official announcement found yet. At least, BebasNew.com.my could have broken the news first.

Apalah...!

Can incompetent Bee Yin be trusted to decide on Lynas license extension?

Toxic waste monster of Pasir Gudang, Lynas?
Or husband's?

DAP had a meeting yesterday on the Lynas issue but kept silence of it. They must have strategised something for today's cabinet meeting.

No specific news from the cabinet meeting. However, if they had followed any SOP as revealed by British sitcom Yes, Minister and Yes, Prime Minister, there is one move they are likely to do.

They will push to establish a commitee spearheaded by the concerned Minister, Yeo Bee Yin to submit a recomendatuon to cabinet.

Decision on Lynas extension of its license to operate is to be made on August 15th tomorrow. However, the problem is do the public trust Yeo Bee Yin's ability to handle the issue?

Loud quarelsome old men phenomenon

Retired Brigedier General Arshad Raji told Zakir Naik to shut for insulting Indians.

Apparently, Zakir Naik told the audience at his Kota Baru stadium speech that Malaysian Hindus should be thankful for the far better treatment they get from the majority Muslims in Malaysia than the treatment minority Muslims get from majority Hindus in India.

If Zakir wanted to expose the bad treatment of minority Indian Muslim, he could have reworded it in a more politically correct way than get himself entangled in local political exchanges.

Nevertheless, the overly talkative and opinionated retired soldier, Arshad usually miss the crux of issue and repeatedly need be corrected.

The matter was not about local Indians but Hindus.

So much for his sensitivity towards Indians, a former founder of IJM Berhad insulted our serviceman.

Where the f^¢& did he hid his loud mouth?

To murder over an accident, manifestation of more than anger

Resorting to murder in the heat of anger over an accident dispute is certainly a gesture beyond expression of anger.

During festive season, traffic is heavy and the queue goes for miles.

Long distance driving is risky and prone to accidents. In the accident, no life was affected, except dents on the car.

It is usual for both drivers to blame the other. And in Malaysia, it is common of it the guilty party to be more vocal and aggressive attitude to get away. They even try their luck to make something out of it.

A baseball bat to beat a person to death in broad daylight is not usu. Perhaps, the first to be publicly reported.

Poison pen letter: Unmasking of Mohan a/l K Thomas [UP-DATED]

The stream of critics on Attorney General, Mohan a/l K Thomas @ Tommy Thomas is endless.

From the manouvre to get Dato Hanafiah Zakaria to acquit Lim Guan Eng of the Jalan Pinhorn bungalow case, Tommy's latest are the embarassing penalty of RM30,000 imposed by the court for failing to get Tan Sri Shafie Abdullah for contempt of court, and calls for his resignation following his conflicted role in the Inquest on the death of fireman Mohd Adib

His latest decision to remove Hanafiah as Solicitor General III and sent him into cold storage as senior research officer at the Judicial and Legal Training Institute (ILKAP) in Bangi is biting him back.

Desperate? Push button? Deklarasi Perpaduan Ummah?

Malaysiakini reported Tun Dr Mahathir had a closed door meeting with MBs and MPs.

Nothing much reported and disclosed.

According to PPBM watcher and former Mahathir loyalist, Zakhir Mohamed, it is "desperate engagement" .

AirAsia episode: Indicative of directionless Malaysian aviation

MITI Deputy Minister gave a positive statement on the prospect of the Malaysian Aerospace industry. Recently, Selangor MB announced a positive new initiative.

However, these days rosy statements, launchings, and announcement of plans are nothing to be excited.

Unless it is a Deputy Minister from DAP that is pushing it from behind, nothing gets funding approval from Minister of Finance.

More so, that is Aerospace. The equally and larger Malaysian aviation industry looks clueless as to where it is heading.

Including the Prime Minister and Minister of Finance, even taking account the broken promises at GE14 campaign, DAP's Transport Minister, Anthony Loke is amang the few most impressive Ministers. Yet he does not seemed to be able to put things in the right perspective.

Amang is Minister of Tourism's way to pronounce among.

There were defensive supporters of MAS and Malaysia Airport then against the upstart and loud new model aviation brought by low cost carrier, Air Asia.

Maybe it is long overdue to bury the hatchet and move on. They were right and MAS failed miserably for being clueless.

DEDICATED TO ZETI: Have I told you lately by Van Morrison

Have I told you lately that I love you
Have I told you there's no one above you
Fill my heart with gladness
Take away my sadness
Ease my troubles, that's what you do

Oh the morning sun in all its glory
Greets the day with hope and comfort too
And you fill my life with laughter
You can make it better
Ease my troubles that's what you do

There's a love that's divine
And it's yours and it's mine
Like the sun
At the end of the day
We should give thanks and pray to the One

Battle for the highways: Mahathir versus Lim Guan Eng?

For that matter, another opinion claimed it is Tun Daim vs Lim Guan Eng.

It may seemed the same to the common folks, but to political economic watchers, it may not be.

The current focus of Tun Dr Mahathir is to remain in power, but the twice Finance Minister, Daim view power differently with eyes slanted for opportunity. In the past, the two may have moments where they are not in-sync.

Be that as it may, Guan Eng announced government plan to takeover four city highways from Gamuda and introduce congestion charges.

Public still see it as toll charges to remain. PH government still not honouring their election promises. Toll forever!

My Say
