Fellow Islam Liberal disagree with Siti Kassim

A day after this blog posted George Harrison's Give Me Love, there is a video of a rude and vulgar interjection by a Malaysian Indian at Haji Hadi's session in London viraling on social media. Christmas is over and yesterday's turkey is today's Turkey sandwich.

Back to reality and the grey areas one has to deal with to achieve peace and love. On Christmas Day itself, there was a gathering in Klang demanding Justice for Adib and removal of Waythamoorthy. Pro-government media attempted to playdown by reporting crowd size at 1,000 (but SunDaily and The Mole reported 5,000) and highlighted Dato Azwanuddin's politically incorrect speech.

Earlier Friday, there was a crowd of 500 to accompany the submission of memo to PM to demand Waytha's sacking in Putrajaya. On Christmas Eve, Siti Kassim and her like-minded friends sent a memo to PM as show of support for Waytha. Malaysiakini reported 50 present but The Star mentioned 30.

Defenders of Waytha are simply ignoring the facts, play up sentiment, and label the other side as racial and religious fanatics. Similar argument was used by the queer lawyer Sit Kassim against Syed Saddiq in her column. Hindraf's defense is to claim Waytha made scapegoat because he is Indian and minority. It is made simplistic as mere blame game. And, the Malay Muslims are labelled as bullies.

It is to the contrary as a fellow Islam Liberal mate of Siti Kassim explained:

In Defence Of Syed Saddiq, Waytha’s Head Must Roll

Dr Ahmad Farouk Musa, Free Malaysia Today

The mayhem could have been avoided. The temple’s management should have settled the dispute among themselves and abided by the court’s settlement.

It was a win-win situation where more than one-acre of land was allocated for the temple to be relocated apart from 1.5 million by the developer, One City Development.

But when they refused to relocate despite taking the money and the land, and to abide by the court’s decision, it was a recipe for a commotion or rather a pandemonium.

Malay thugs were hired to do the dirty work. But the riot and burning of cars were not of their doing. What more of maiming a fireman in line of duty that has resulted in his death.

The fireman, Adib, had suffered lung injuries from broken ribs during the physical assault that finally resulted in multi-organ failure and his subsequent death.
But what would a responsible minister of National Unity and Social Well-Being should have done in that critical time of crisis? He should have defused the tension and called everyone to act with reason and not emotion.

Instead of calming the situation, he put the blame on the police personnel for being late in taking any action. And to pour fuel on the fire, V. Ganabathirau, the Selangor state exco accused the “Muslim group” of causing the fiasco.

The inability of the so-called minister of national unity to act professionally in defusing such a highly-tensed situation involving racial riots at a very critical moment but acted as if he was a member of the opposition party and not part of the government of the day, calls us to evaluate his position.
What more when his past was coloured with racial and religious bigotry. Almost everyone still remembers the lies that he uttered during the Dutch television interviewed in 2007.

Has he ever apologised for saying that in this country, Hindus are forced to convert to get jobs in government departments and scholarships? And that thousands of temples were demolished since independence?

When this issue was brought up recently, he simply dismissed it as an old video. But did he apologise? No, he did not. And his irresponsible action in fanning the temple fracas showed his true colour.

What Syed Saddiq did was not for his fame nor glory, but for the sake of national unity. But who was swift in rebuking Syed Saddiq?

It was non-other than the “LTTE-linked” P Ramasamy, the “professor”.

And who came in support of P Ramasamy is his spat with Syed Saddiq? It was Ramkarpal Singh. Didn’t we see a trend here?

That Syed Saddiq was being chastised for speaking up for the interest of national unity by asking for the sacking of Waytha but was then summarily attacked by similar minded politicians who probably have had a history of racial agenda?
When Adib was fighting for his life in CICU, IJN, did the temple management ever issue an apology for being unable to control their fanatic devotees?

Did they ever show any goodwill by assuring Adib’s family that they will foot the IJN’s bill? No! they did not!

In fact, they came up with a deceiving narrative that Adib was actually hit by a truck. This was despite the eyewitnesses who confessed that Adib was pulled out from the fire engine and battered without mercy.

The question is why was this arrogant behaviour of the group against the temple relocation?

We believe it lies in the fact that they knew that there was at least one political figure who would back them up. And that figure was non-other than Waytha.

Waytha was the one who advised the temple representatives that the temple need not be relocated. How do we expect then that the minister of national unity to be an impartial person that acts according to the national interest in fostering social harmony and unity?

How do we expect that a person who is known to be biased towards the Hindus to be able to gain the trust from the majority of the population?

He has terribly failed in his duty to guard national unity.

His action was against the spirit of fostering racial harmony.

In fact, his action was as if he was still the leader of Hindraf. The government is at risk of losing the support of the majority of the citizens if it continues to have a Minister who was presumed to be a “racist”.

And there is no good reason for the government to continue having Waytha since it is just like what they say in the Malay proverb as “mendukung biawak hidup”.

Dr Ahmad Farouk Musa heads the Islamic Renaissance Front.

DAP candidate for Cameron Highlands?

It is clearly defending the indefensible. But, why is DAP through P Ramasamy and Ram Karpal defending him?

An Indian DAP Youth Secretary attempted to doubt Waytha involvement in stroking tension during the Seafield temple riot. DAP Perak's Aziz Bari skirted the issue but instead dwell into Syed Saddiq's inappropriate behaviour to vent out openly against another Minister.

Maybe, rather than having a DAP internal debate, DAP should test the public acceptance to Waytha through the expected to be crowded line-up at Cameron Highand by-election.

Syed Saddiq's free publicity

It looks as if DAP is giving free publicity to Syed Saddiq's party election, who U-turned on PTPTN and U-turned again against his Chairman's firm stance.

Syed Saddiq did made a cunning response to Ramasamy's threat to ask why he not criticised Kadir Jasin. Ramasamy's defense of Mahathir's right on cabinet appointments is classic DAP hypocrasy s it is open secret that DAP impose their will on the appointments of Finance Minister and other Cabinet post, Chief Justice and Attorney General.

The reply to Ram Karpal would be unlike Syed Saddiq who has no direct hands in the national football team, Farouk explained that Waytha had direct involvement in the Seafield temple riot and  talk among property developers, Waytha is the invisible political hand in many temple scams on them.

In response to Siti Kassim's racist labelling and Liberals' threat, Syed Saddiq is not off the mark to say it is not always about race and instead accused her as promoting communal politics..

---------------------

With the arguments so devoid of facts (unlike Farouk's), it is truly an interesting case of selective right to free speech and right to defend a minority even how wrong and inconsistent he is.

Nevertheless, if Waytha is to resign or sack, will Justice for Adib be achieved? More so, with talk there could be insufficient collaborative witness and possible cover-up?

Beginning to doubt ...

[25/12, 10:55 AM] انوار ِِءمر الحج: Rasanya ramai yg masih keliru dan salahkan PDRM sebab masih tak tangkap 4 orang perusuh India yg sebabkan kecederaan dan kematian Allahyarham Mohd. Adib...

Sebenarnya, pendakwaan awal bawah Seksyen 307 Kanun Keseksaan atas pertuduhan cubaan membunuh...

Memang Orang Kena Tuduh (OKT) akan di tawarkan dengan ikat jamin...

Tapi, selepas kematian Allahyarham Mohd.

Very few comments here about an an institution that led to the death of the "six" in and earlier incident. How many heads rolled of their incompetency? How many terminated from service?
Here is a logical deduction of events.
20 thugs came armed to a holy site and created a ruckus with life threatening arms.
Police delayed intervention.
After fires bomba called in.
Why would anyone in his right frame of mind hurt the bomba personnel who came to salvage their temple?
What do 20 thugs have anything to do with some Minister while legal processes were still in motion?
And while there are many video clips still in viral mode showing some related to the death of a fireman it's not hard to believe there may be endless cover-ups to actually what actually happened.

I believe it will be shown in future all about the incompetency of some of the departments in charge of protecting the rakyat.

I do hope bloggers will verify facts before shooting of the hip.

We'll wait for details later ya.
