BR1M/BSH: Is DAP sabotaging PPBM campaign?

Few days ago, it was heard from sources involved in PPBM campaign that Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin is not happy with the BR1M announced by Lim Guan Eng for unmarried youth.

Oppss... Sorry, its rebranded as Bantuan Sara Hidup to justify their promise to abolish BR1M and cleanse it of the element of bribery. Preesumably, the new form but same substance is Halal and no more smeared by political populism.

Muhyiddin said they will appeal to Minister of Finance to increase the amount. It only indicate the announcement does not help their campaign.

This is important for PPBM campaign to attract young voters in Semenyih. If so, PPBM's Minister of Education should announce abolishing PTPTN as promised in PH's GE14 Manifesto.

Certainly, RM100 a year of BSH is ridiculously too low and insignificant.

Its not worth going through the paperwork, queue and trip going to and from government offices. Imagine the case for youth of the interiors of Sabah and Sarawak.

Dato' Najib promised BR1M for unmarried youth was RM650 per year for 2019 in BN Manifesto.

Apparently, the allowance due to Felda settlers already announced was still held back payment by Guan Eng. What hope do Pakatan Hancing have to deliver on their BSH promise?

The media release by Guan Eng:

Bantuan Sara Hidup (BSH) 2019 Sebanyak RM100 Untuk Golongan Bujang

Selasa, Feb 19 2019

SIARAN MEDIA
KEMENTERIAN KEWANGAN MALAYSIA

Bet the DAP people must be giggling to Muhyiddin's reaction.

One observer following Lim Kit Siang's campaign in Semenyih at a New Village felt he was subtly rooting for Uncle Kentang, the Batu Pahat born and Puchong based philanthropist.

If he runs under BN or PH flag, he could be a winner.

It is not so obvious thus the feeling or personal analysis of the observer is subjective. However, the quarrel between Tun Dr Mahathir and Lim Guan Eng is for real and already out in the open.

The BSH announcement is Guan Eng's reluctance to entertain old school UMNO's version of social justice prescribed by PPBM.

Guan Eng believes in his own interpretation of socialism (notice DAPSY stand for DAP Socialist Youth) and equality ala Malaysian Malaysia along Chinese capitalism.

Allocation for private Chinese and Tamil schools vis-a-vis government school is a case in point.

Both BR1M and BSH are handouts and skewed to benefit Malays and Bumiputera. It is not deemed as socialist-ically fair to Guan Eng.

Furthermore. DAP is not supportive to strengthening PPBM's political position.

Anwar and Guan Eng denied attempt to topple the PM, but Johor DAP leader, Boo Cheng Hau call for Mahathir's resignation cannot be any louder a message.

This morning, banners calling for Mahathir's resignation were spotted at Jalan Riong, KL near NST office and other spots in KL.

It could be put up by staunch Anwar supporter which one could suspect to be PKR MP for Pantai. Or it could be done by UMNO to instigate internal quarrel within PH.

On Monday, PH was to have their Presidential Council meeting. It is believed that Anwar wanted the meeting. However. Mahathir evaded the confrontation by citing the Semenyih by-election.

Increasingly, the loud and liberal NGOs are disappointed with Mahathir and see him as the stumbling block to their reform agenda. However, the political quarrel is becoming clearer that it is Mahathir vs Guan Eng than Mahathir vs Anwar.

Off course, Mahathir's preference is Azmin. But can he contribute the number when Mahathir's theme is Malay and Bumiputera unity?

In turn, Guan Eng will need Najib to fight Mahathir. How will that happen?
