Zeti does not know she is being used by Mahathir

Before the previous BNM Governor, Tan Sri Muhammad Ibrahim was selected, the talk then was that Tan Sri Zeti Akhtar Aziz's preferred successor was 1MDB investigator, Dato Nor Shamsiah Yusof.

If she was seen promoting and campaigning for Muhammad then, she is now promoting, campaigning and soothing public concern on Muhammad's resignation and Shamsiah's appointment. Heard the better choice should be the baiyi but Shamsiah's 1MDB effort is more the interest of Tun Dr Mahathir.

Zeti is the prefered choice of Mahathir to be used till she is of no use and to be chug aside. Increasingly, she is of no use. How much could Zeti's soothing assurances be of value to investors in a slowly but surely crashing market and an economy heading for recession?

The same with Shamsiah.

AG Idrus Haron accomplice to cover-up Zeti, Nor Yakcop

Last week in the midst of the Melaka state election, MACC issued a statement to confirm receipt of US$15.4 million (equivalent to RM65 million) from Singapore's Commercial Affairs Department.

It is 1MDB monies squandered by Cutting Edge Industries Pte Limited belonging to Dato Tawfiq Ayman, the husband to former Bank Negara Governor, Tan Sri Dr Zeti Akhtar Aziz. 

This confirmed the revelation published in this blog dated March 23rd 2021 of collusion involving Zeti, Ambank, Goldman Sachs and Jho Loh taking a bite of the 1MDB bond's cherry. There is another RM635 million more still due. 

Through the mechanism of secondary subscriber, Jho Low distributed the deep discount given to various parties including himself and Zeti.      

Fast forward, police should be completing their investigation of Zeti and there are basis for her to be charged. Why is the Attorney General covering up for Zeti? 

For that matter, why is Tan Sri Idrus Haron covering up for another of Mahathir's man, Tan Sri Nor Mohammed Yakcop? 

Are many parties including MACC's AMLA Division covering up for Zeti?

Despite SRC guilty judgement, many would wonder why this whistleblowing blog remained defensive of Dato Seri Najib in the SRC-1MDB debacle. Is this blog defending a corrupt act that is globally known?  

At times, this blog defended wrongful allegations as made against previous Tabung Haji management and malafide intention of LHDN to bankrupt Najib. The defense of Najib is purely motivated for the same PURSUIT OF TRUTH AND JUSTICE. 

When doubts are visible, legal process suspiciously tampered, and widely mentioned in the legal fraternity of judges and DPPs can be bribed or pressured to follow instruction, one cannot completely believe statements of officials, and mainstream media report.

Tan Sri Dr Zeti Aziz's family accepted laundered 1MDB money from Taek Jho Low in Singapore. It is suspected to be "bribe" for Zeti to get BNM to approve certain transactions. 

Yet, High Court refused Najib's request  for documents on Zeti, Mahiaddin-friendly media dispelled as "fishing expedition", and Sarawak Report accused Najib of fixing Zeti. More so, Zeti was not called by the court and prosecution did not bring her in as their witness. 

Truth and justice could be denied in the 1MDB-Tanore too. In fact, not only BNM and police is seen so, but MACC could possibly be covering up from prosecuting Zeti. 

This is not in anyway intended to pile up more pressure on Dato Azam Baki.    

Zeti continuously slept on the job

Attorney General statement said the report submitted and application for review by BNM was in insufficient to bring a legal case on 1MDB for alleged offense under para (4) of Part 1 of the Fifth Schedule of Exchange Control Act.

In her statement here, Tan Sri Zeti Akhtar Aziz noted AG's sole power under the constitution to make assessment and initiate criminal proceeding. Zeti admitted:

On its part, the Bank concluded that permissions required under the ECA for 1MDB’s investments abroad were obtained based on inaccurate or without complete disclosure of material information relevant to the Bank’s assessment of 1MDB’s applications.

It means Zeti tidor and simply approved 1MDB's application based on as she alleged now as "inaccurate or without complete disclosure" in their assessment to approve in 2009-11.

That is 4-6 years later.

The next big thing 1MDB-related scandal, but where is Mahathir?

There has not been a whisper from the likes of DAP's Lim Kit Siang, Opposition Leader Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim or former Bersih chief Datuk S. Ambiga. 

Most of all, where is Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad? He is the man who explained the 1MDB issue to the layman in one word – kleptocrats.

Though not sufficient to respond to the rapid fire of expose and rebutting questions raised to dominate public perception, the then BN government side made an effort to explain.

Mahathir washed his hands as Bukit Aman investigate Zeti's husband

The Edge Online reported yesterday:

Datuk Dr Tawfiq Ayman, the husband of former Bank Negara Malaysia (BNM) governor Tan Sri Dr Zeti Akhtar Aziz, was spotted at the police Commercial Crime unit here giving his statement for three hours.

Wearing a mask, he was seen waiting and talking to his lawyer at a coffee outlet at 9.50am before going into Menara KPJ in Jalan Tun Razak 10 minutes later.

Sources told theedgemarkets.com that he had his statement recorded for three hours and was seen leaving the vicinity slightly after 1pm, while being accompanied by his lawyer Datuk Jagjit Singh. It is understood he may come again next week.

Tun Dr Mahathir washed his hands and claim ignorance of Zeti's 1MDB involvement. His denial is not believable to staunch Najib supporter and FBooker, Lim Sian See.

Zeti does not deserve Tunship

Many months ago and in the thick of the 1MDB debacle, it is overheard that Tan Sri Dr Zeti Akhtar Aziz was almost ready to quit her position as Governor Bank Negara Malaysia (BNM).

However, she was asked to stay till her contract expired.

It would worsen further the image of the political leadership. At the time, AG was changed, police raided on MACC, two MACC Directors transfered to PM Department and Tan Sri Muhyiddin and Dato Shafie Apdal removed from cabinet.

As the date of Zeti's retirement gets closer, talk is she was positioning herself for extension. Thus for her remark is no politicians should lead BNM. It was intended to shut out her nearest competitor, Dato Dr Awang Adek Hussein.

Both Zeti and Awang received their doctorate from Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania and she was aware Awang was a genius; double degree in 3 years and straight for express doctoral program.

Anyway, if Awang Adek cannot make Governor, than Tan Sri Mohd Nor Yakcop does not qualify also.

Zeti took 26 days to deny, how many days to response on Ecotive?

The PNB announcement on the appointment of Jalil Rashid as PNB CEO was made on August 29th, 2019. Subsequently, Tun Dr Mahathir said he was not informed of the appointment. Then, it was  complete silence from PNB Chairman, Tan Sri Dr Zeti Akhtar Aziz.

One can hear the pin drop at the Chairman office at PNB headquarter.

Finally after 26 days, Zeti issued a denial, After so long, it hardly said anything but the usual corporate communication bullshit of claiming they followed procedure. There was hardly any meat.

If they did follow procedure, why was Mahathir not in the know (video HERE) as it is not customary of him to not know of important appointments? Of all person, Zeti would be the last person not to know Mahathir expect to be kept abreast? Even any appointments to be made by Dato Paduka Mukhriz or Dato Seri Faizal Azumu within their respective state still need his prior approval!

Is Zeti confirming the rumour Mahathir is beginning to show early signs of senility or dementia to forget and as one PPBM MP said, he is on remote memory? 

So come out with it.

Zeti said nothing, did nothing and view nothing

Something forgotten in the previous posting. Tan Sri Zeti Akhtar Aziz did say there will be no pegging. She said the same thing yesterday.

Zeti also said at a conference that Malaysia is not the weakest link in Asia, thus disputing Dato Nazir Abdul Razak's prophet of doom claim Malaysia's bond will turn into junk. Nazir was merely sabotaging the 30-year bond issue which he chicken out from. And, doing the same tantrum after demand for Minister of Finance position rejected.

Malaysia is vulnerable given the weaker global growth outlook but it has a diversified economy which will enable it to weather the uncertainties said Bank Negara Malaysia Governor Tan Sri Dr Zeti Akhtar Aziz.

But it is not a weak link in the region.

She dismissed a suggestion that neighbouring countries viewed the current weakness in the ringgit and placed Malaysia as the weak link in the region, raising the risk of a contagion (similar to the baht weakness before the Asian Financial Crisis).

Did Zeti lowered her eyelids to "baby" Nazir's shit?

There was a joke on FB last week that pun a common joke meant for a you-know-who whose been rather quiet and keeping a low profile:

It is quite applicable to Zeti as she has a habit of going tantrum. Only different is she does not have the baby tantrum but more of the phenomenon of woman at advance age. At least her latest statement is not so "menopausal" as before.

Interestingly, there is similarity, connection and possibly a collusion between Nazir and Zeti. Many failed to realise that Zeti may have lowered her eyelids on matters concerning Nazir.

If not done on purpose, late 60s Zeti is in the habit of sleeping during office hours.

Zeti on vindictive mode to cover-up for sleeping

Bank Negara Governor, Tan Sri Zeti Akhtar Aziz has yet repeat herself on the 1MDB investigation yesterday.

Zeti was reported saying "progress being made" and "action on 1MDB" on three approvals given under Exchange Control Act for 1MDB to invest abroad.

She took the vindictive act to insist on the repatriation of the money despite explanation by Attorney General, Tan Sri Apandi that there is no legal basis to prosecute on those alleged infringements. She was insisted BNM made no mistake and unreasonably insist on the repatriation of money earmarked for the "debt to asset swap".

Yesterday's report is telling that she is covering up for her slip shot work in enforcement. If Zeti is so damn serious about investigating and putting things right at MDB, why is she not seriously pursuing the yesterday mentioned disappeared fugitive Casey Tang and Jasmine Loo?

Putting up on website is hardly much an effort. Another of her drama on 1MDB?

Should be arrested: Zeti, Nor Yakcop, Tawfiq

MACC confirmation receiving US$15.4 million (RM65 million) of laundered 1MDB monies from Singapore is currently causing an uproar.

Why is the Malaysian law enforcement not acted on former BNM Governor Tan Sri Dr Zeti Aziz, husband Dato Tawfiq Ayman, and also former Minister Tan Sri Nor Mohamed Yakcop?

Together with the statutory declaration signed by Tawfiq to Singapore's CAD, there are more than sufficient grounds for Police's Commercial Crime Investigation Department to arrest Tawfiq and Zeti as suspect for investigation.

Minister in the PM's Department, Dato Wan Junaidi confirmed in Parliament that police have been investigating the couple and only made known by BNM of the monies confiscated by Singapore authority in 2019.

Blaming others to cover inadequacy

Cyberspace is hot over whether Bank Negara Governor, Tan Sri Zeti Akhtar actually blamed 1MDB for the ringgit fall. Someone send us her video and it confirmed that she actually said it.

As a former currency trader used to follow statements of Central Bank Governors and Ministers of Finance of major economic powerhouses, her statement to implicate 1MDB was a pathetic excuse to cover her inability to manage and that led into a crisis. 

The words of a Central Bank Governor are usually loaded and have far reaching impact. It is a signal for upcoming monetary policy. In some countries, it is gives an insight into possible future budget and fiscal policies.

Currency traders and other financial market traders analyse their every words and nuances for hints of policies on interest rates and their assessment of existing monetary issues.

Unfortunately, Zeti's words on Ringgit means nothing.

Zeti's spoiler to CREC's confidence boost for 1MDB

It is a deja vu similar to the July 23rd 2015 event at Tan Sri Gani Patail's home. Our source claimed Tan Sri Abu Kassim convinced Gani to pursue Najib "since he is retiring, charging will be one way to get public to remember him by. It clears his name from past misdeeds."

The timing of Zeti's statement is uncanny and seem to compliment Bar Council's motion to demand AG's resignation, Bar Council's filing of judicial review, Tun Dr Mahathir's lawsuit against Najib, and Dato Zaid Ibrahim's "Citizens' Declaration" March 27th gathering. With many media and news portal playing up Lim Guan Eng's house purchase issue, it like extending assistance to relief the Penang CM of the pressure.

This surprise is a party pooper to 1MDB confidence boasting move by CREC for Bandar Malaysia.

Choice should be between Awang or Wahid

Wall Street Journal was trying to pre-empt Dato Najib's decision on the appointment for the Governor for Bank Negara Malaysia (BNM) with a spin.

With the intention to maintain the newscycle, they reported Tan Sri Dr Irwan Serigar Abdullah as leading candidate and highlighted his position as member of the Board of Advisory of 1MDB.

It is not uncommon practise for BNM Governorship to come from outside the organisation. In fact, Tan Sri Zeti Akhtar Aziz was the only first Governor that rose from the rank. Prior to Zeti, it was former Director General of EPU, Tan Sri Ali Abul Sulaiman.

Appointing Irwan could mean a "demotion" from his current position as Secretary General of Treasury, in which BNM falls under MoF.

Zeti has been lobbying for an appointment from within using the excuse of no politicians. It seemed intended to stop a former BNM, turned politician and currently ambassador to the US from assuming the position.

Odds is against an internal appointment in the light of suspicious involvement of certain top officials of BNM in a plot to frame and topple the Prime Minister.

Romen Bose on SRC Federal Court appeal

The weekend before the Federal Court final appeal began, Romen Bose; the former AFP reporter, former PMO and writer of the book Final Reckoning, he posted a status on his Facebook entitled: "Is this really justice?" 

Last night, he updated with "The Silence is Defeaning."

For many years, he saw from inside the Prime Minister's Office the events, including the deceipts and betrayals, leading to the fall of the BN government in his book.

We are now witnessing the long anticipated endgame to imprison Najib Tun Razak, which would indirectly shame and the great legacy of his father Tun Abdul Razak bin Dato Hussein.

Wrong answer and Tajuddin Rahman could be another Zeti

Most politicians appreciate the transparency, no holds bared revelation, and whistling blowing by social media, blogs and online sites. Dato Azeez Raheem once complimented them as Jabatan Netizen.

Air Asia: From piloting Airline to "Teksi & Motor Sapu"?

Air Asia was a victim of Covid-19 pandemic that swept the globe. Reflecting Tan Sri Tony Fernandez situation, the jet setting airline owner is seen as any recent unemployed doing food delivery gig. 

On November 28th, 2021, Gopal Raj Kumar wrote in his blog a review of Air Asia with an interesting title: "Why Air Asia can't fail?" The title is both intriguing and puzzzling. 

Its disturbingly provocative because creditors accepted a "balding" haircut to forgive the RM34.5 billion debt and accept the proposed repayment of only 0.5% with 9 months truce from any legal demands. 

Perhaps the size is the reason Air Asia can't be allowed to fail. In banking term, its called moral hazard. Tan Sri Nazir Razak rescued his buddy Tony F with Danajamin, a new subsidiary of Bank Pembangunan consolidated in a recent acquisition, to provide RM500 million guarantee to recapitalise. 

It's not Nazir's PE Company Ikhlas Capital but government money for the man, who hit at Malaysia Airlines to boast Air Asia did it on its own without government help. 

One can dig the past, but in addition to Danajamin, the "botak" cut reportedly affected Malaysia Airport, and Tengku Zafrul's former employers - CIMB and Maybank.
