Where everybody miss the plot

Makin' your way in the world today
Takes everything you've got
Sure would help a lot

All those nights when you've got no lights
The check is in the mail
And your little angel
Hung the cat up by it's tail
And your third fiance didn't show

Sometimes you wanna go
Where everybody miss the plot ...

That out of rhyme modification spoilt Cheers' theme song and put a dead stop to a fine song.

By exactly the manner, the reactions to postings by Bigdog and Shamsul Yunos's My Anger ended the message that there is an ongoing plot by DAP to misuse certain churches and Christian groups to do their campaigning and disseminate their racial divisive politics into the religous arena.

Unfortunately or fortunately, depending on how one sees it, Bigdog and Shamsul shared a sensational information complete with photo of a dinner where Christian pastors were hurdled together holdings hands allegedly pledging to turn this country into a Christian nation and a Christian to be a Prime Minister one day.

Rocky Bru gave their sensational title-poser "Making Christianity the official religion?" and "Agong under threat?" a link. It took on it's own direction from there.

In his impassioned style, Shamsul attempted to clarify himself with the question (note it is all questions): "Who is making Christianity a scapegoat?" but to no avail.

Every other person was trying to be wise-guy Cliff Clavin, or being simplistic Norm Peterson but most were just space-out Coach or dumb Woody. [Read up on Cheers here.]

Rais Yatim sounded more as though he was trying to get even with his response in Bernama here.

If anyone were to claim that the Christians did not attempt to be involved in politicking, Carla Totelli should bash their head with a beer mug.

Ask ourselves, where did all the interfaith issues like Lina Joy and the uprising of vocal groupings like MCCBHS demanding the formation of Interfaith Commission came from?

Just like the case of Catholics magazine, The Herald requesting to publish in Malay and Bible in Malay, these are all indicative of Christian asserting themselves on the authority.

It is not just about some groups seeking on the authorities for some leeway to ease their way of life or practices, but it is demanding and beginning to be militant to insist on their way as a right without consideration for the balancing act the authorities have to face in addressing the interest of other conflicting groups.

Since Tun Dol's administration, such voices have been louder and more aggresive. They are coming out of the woodwork.

Who is to deny they are not infiltrating and using other organisations and NGOs, including political party and Bar Council to do their pitching?

True, as Raja Petra tries to tone down the heat here, it is not legally possible to change the status of Islam as the religion of the Federation, but there is no stopping a Christian to be a Prime Minister.

Many Malaysians are not totally blind to the attempt by some groups of lawyers and the movement called MyConsti to crete a groundswell to demand change in the major make-up of the Constitution.

As one commentator in Bigdogdotcom by the name of Andak here shared a chronology of event, there was a trend developing before what happened today:
30 Mei 2007 – Ketua Hakim Negara, Tun Ahmad Fairuz Sheikh Abdul Halim menyampaikan penghakiman menyebelahi MAIWP dalam kes Lina Joy. Beliau salah seorang antara 2 hakim Islam dalam panel 3 hakim. MAIWP memperolehi penghakiman 2-1 menyebelahinya.

19 September 2007 – Malaysiakini menyiarkan dakwaan bahawa peguam V.K.

1 November 2007 – Tun Ahmad Fairuz bersara.

13 Mac 2008 – Rev. Wong Kim Kong, Setiausaha Agung NECF (National Evangelical Christian Fellowship) Malaysia mengeluarkan kenyataan akhbar yang mengarahkan para penganut Kristian agar berdoa untuk parti-parti Pakatan Rakyat iaitu PKR, DAP dan PAS “For harmonious working relations among the Barisan Rakyat parties – PKR, DAP and PAS”.

16 Mac 2008 – Dr. Dzulkefly Ahmad, Pengarah Pusat Penyelidikan & Pembangunan PAS serta Ahli Parlimen PAS Kuala Selangor, menziarahi Gereja St. Paul The Hermit di Ijok.

27 Mac 2008 – Ahli Parlimen PAS Shah Alam, Khalid Abdul Samad, menziarahi Roman Catholic Church of the Divine Mercy di Shah Alam pada dan memberikan kebenaran kepada Gereja untuk menggunakan kalimah ‘Allah’.

21 April 2008 – Archbishop of Kuala Lumpur, Murphy Pakiam, memohon semakan kehakiman kepada Mahkamah Tinggi untuk mencabar keputusan Kerajaan Malaysia yang melarang penggunaan kalimah ‘Allah’ oleh Herald – The Catholic Weekly. Herald – The Catholic Weekly juga diterbitkan dalam bentuk laman web.
This shows the trend of Christian groups getting dirty with politics.

These groups begin to click when Christian activists in DAP in the likes of Theresa Kok, Hannah Yeoh, Janice Lee, Dato Ngeh Koo Ham and Nga Kor Meng reached out to them to help DAP during the Sibu by-election in May 2010.

Below are pictures of PAS dan DAP MPs together with DAP party workers distributing promoting a church event. Why would they if they are not involved?

Noticeable in the pictures are MP for Shah Alam, Khalid Abdul Samad, MP for Kota Raja Dr. Siti Mariah Mahmud, Saravanan Taileran, Aiman Athiran Al Jundi, MP for Seputeh, Teresa Kok, MP for Seputeh and Irene Cheng, DAP then candidate Wong Ho Leng’s wife.

Sibu's Foochow clan are mostly Christians and through the church network of Pastor Dato Ngeh Koo Ham, he arranged for DAP Sarawak to infiltrate certain church group, specifically Methodist Church.

The Foochow has a seige mentality on religion from past history. They had fled China for a better life to Sarawak and Perak following Christians Chinese massacre by the Boxer Rebellion. Read Wikipedia here.

Malaya and Sarawak had provided them the refuge to practise religion. But today, under the cloak of religous freedom, they are turning their gun to disseminate divisive racial and religous prejudicial politics and slanders against Barisan Nasional political to help DAP make political gains.

This is disguised under the facade of struggling for democratic, human rights and good governance.

[Read this anonymous but revealing blog, The Unspinners' posting dated May 4th 2010 here.]

Pastor Ngeh was in his elements as The Unspinners described in their posting on May 11 2010 here. His "sermon" was not about seeking leeway from the authorities but clear criticism and seeking conflict on policies with inter-faith interest with the official religion of the country, Islam.

In the meanwhile, Theresa did her gig at The Sacred Hearts Cathederal.

During the last Sarawak election, the Malay Bible issue was made into an issue. Strangely, it is DAP and the Chinese that is screaming the loudest. In actual fact:

But, DAP Sarawak soldier on to ignore the answer and fact to turn it into an issue. The following banner is self explanatory:

These are the main points raised by Bigdog and Shamsul in their posting that was lost to sensationalism from various groups including the Malay Muslim groups.

Think of this.

Islamic administration in the country manages and administer the sermons in this country to ensure issues spoken by the Imam are not agitating the Muslim into an arms struggle or jihad revolution.

As the majority in this country, the Muslim are guided to be responsible and become peace loving people. Muslim is supposed to be part of the nation building process.

Other than Islam, the only other main religion in this country that have sermon as part of their ritual is Christianity.

Is there an authority that administer and monitor to ensure sermon is line with the nation building process and no priests or pastor would agitate the congregation into another crusade?

Dato Hishamuddin is right to view the information raised by Bigdog and Shamsul from the security standpoint of view. Whether he actually act on it is another issue?

But nevertheless, multi-ethnic and multi-faith Malaysia cannot take likely any attempt by any groupings to ignite an inter-ethnic or inter-faith clash. More so, when foreign pastors are getting involve in our domestic election.

The act of such irresponsible Christians gives a bad name to good christian like my Melanau Christian friend from Miri, Hilbert Montell. He said in his posting here that that is not the stance of common Christians who are aware and happy with the current arrangement.

Such pledge could have or could not have occurred but the adversarial and aggressive trend of Christian churches makes such alleged pledges seemed believable.

Salam Voice,

As for the Catholics,

"Priests Do Not Have a Political Mission"

no no no no,
if it's umno or bn or utusan, then those are the bad guys.

if it's dap or christians or anwar, those are the good guys.

once u get that clear then we are on the right path to success in this world.

notice the comments in pro-dap website malaysian insider on stories about high cost of houses. everyone in their comments blame umno-bn, najib.

no one blames the chinese towkays or mention the fact that some of the highest houses are in penang and selangor.
blind as a bat, they can only hear echoes of their own voices.

Looks like you have a problem with Christians getting involved in politics. Nazis like you would rather see fellow Malaysian christians being treated like the Coptics in Egypt or slaughtered like Iraqi Christians and maintain that being Muslim gives you the right to everything. Typical al qaeda.

someone seems to miss the plot my understanding, this article is about the manipulations of christianity by certain groups to achieve their political agenda.this could turn out to be hazardous to our country.religion and issues involving it are sensitive and should be handled with prudent.

If the non muslims are afraid of that theological state that pas promote and comfortable with a secular state, why are they reasserting they getting "religous ?

It is a shame you are the same level after that long blogging ....Another Blockhead in the Wall....

You should be more ashame for being dumb.

After much explanation, you chose to remain prejudicial and preconclude wrongly.

It is idiot like you that contribute to the communal tension of today.

Your existense is a hindrance to civilised and open public discussion on issues.

Wow are you trying to spin the issue? Come on bro, we as Muslims shouldn't lie.

Too bad that all you succeed in doing is to make us look like hypocrites.

Christians involved in politics? So Muslims don't?

Many Christians in Sarawak? How is that even relevant?

I have not even begun to argue about how wrong your facts are, and already your article has been proven invalid

Do stop masturbating on this blog.

Where is your arguments? You hardly said anything.

The church did not apply for the printing of the bible in bahasa. Bible in bahasa was there before the existence of Malaysia but the UMNO government is trying to make it illegal. The bloggers n utusan fabricate lies and I feel disappointed with you. I regreted ever knowing you. harry

Just a picture of christians gathering, Utusan headline "Christianity official religion?". What about PM visit to Batu Caves with garland of flowers round his neck and surrounded by all the Hindu priests.
Utusan quietly forgot to make its headline "Hinduism official religion?"
If you malays can just bellieve this rubbish report, it shows you don't have condidence in yourself. The Agong, PM and 70% are malays, so how is it possible. Wake up, who is actually manipulating those of you with low IQ?

Fail. Fail. And more major fail.

Your 'Conspiracy Theory' lists of simple coincidences have little merit, if none, at all. An archbishop as a special guest in Anwar's soiree is likening my Malay neighbour coming over for breakfast, knowing I am a Christian. It's solidarity, not some secret gathering hush-hush-let's-take-over-the-country-and-oh-by-the-way-can-the-religion-be-Christian?

Your blog has no merit. You have no merit. Your existence has no merit. You are the source of the downfall of our nation, spreading ignorance and idiocy in equal measures.

You are missing the plot here. Two of your friends spread inflamatory claims w/o evidence about a so-called dap-xtian Plot to turn Malaysia into a Xtian country.

The onus is on zakhir n shamsul to prove their claims. shamsul has already pussied out by erase his blog to hid evidence but google cache always caches it

Anon 12:26 AM and other relevant commentators

It is not about me missing the plot but you disagreeing with me.

Why need to still have that tone of hostilities?

I think they were asking a poser but you think it is an accusation, thus for your proof demands.

I should not release comment that express personal hostility towards because it does not add to a discussion

But I toleratte it in order to engage you.

You said Andak's 'Conspiracy Theory' lists as simple coincidences with little merit, if none, at all.

Maybe that is what you feel but you could only answer for the Raya visit to Anwars home.

If we do not know any better, that is what seems to be happening.

Why can't the christian parties be sensitive to this perception built by the own doings?

We are also aware of how events replicated everywhere in the world for external power and influence to enter and dominate a country.

Dear Voice,

Already another fabrication in the article above about Christian DAP activists?!

FYI, Jenice Lee is not even Christian!
If this simple glaring lie can be inserted in your article, then you risk stooping to Big Dog, Shamsul & Utusan level spinning to frame your story angle.

Btw, Jeff Ooi is a practising Buddhist. Alot of people in Subang Jaya knows this.
Besides him, there are also apparently Muslim, Sikh & other Buddhists in that Penang event.

So, for your grand conspiracy event involving Christians, those little facts make it look like you too have been guilty of spinning the story like Big Dog, Shamsul & Utusan...

Why is UM can always get away with seditions? In the past they had raised so many racial issues that work up the malays and still get away with it. Now they are at it again. What you are writing here now is just playing to their game. To make their paper popular and sell more!

Fact 1. It been enshrined in the Constitution - Islam is malaysia's official religion! Nothing can change it!

Fact 2. Even with a non-muslim PM does not make malaysia a non-muslim country!

Fact 3. Except for one DAP member who was an ex-UMNO making a report on this issue, no one had come forward. And mind you, he did another Bala. MIA. If it is true as per his report, pls come forward.

Fact 4. BN is DESPERATE!

So, are you another spinner from BN??
